Total Lunar Eclipse 15 Jun 2011

Total Lunar Eclipse 15 Jun 2011 The first lunar eclipse of 2011 occurs at the Moon's ascending node in southern Ophiuchus about 7° west of the Lagoon Nebula (M8). The Moon passes deeply through Earth's umbral shadow during this rather long event. The total phase itself lasts 100 minutes. The last eclipse to exceed this duration was in July 2000. The Moon's contact times with Earth's umbral and penumbral shadows are listed below. Penumbral Eclipse Begins: 17:24:34 UT Partial Eclipse Begins: 18:22:56 UT Total Eclipse Begins: 19:22:30 UT Greatest Eclipse: 20:12:37 UT Total Eclipse Ends: 21:02:42 UT Partial Eclipse Ends: 22:02:15 UT Penumbral Eclipse Ends: 23:00:45 UT At the instant of greatest eclipse the umbral eclipse magnitude will reach 1.6998 as the Moon's centre passes within 5.3 arc-minutes of the shadow axis. The Moon's southern limb will lay 54.2 arc-minutes from the edge of the umbra while the northern limb will lay 22.3 arc-minutes from the umbra's edge. Thus, the northern regions of the Moon will probably appear brighter than the southern regions that lie deeper in the shadow. Since the Moon samples a large range of umbral depths during totality, its appearance will change dramatically with time. It is difficult to predict the exact brightness distribution in the umbra so observers are encouraged to estimate the Danjon value at different times during totality. The June 15 total lunar eclipse is the 34th member of Saros 130, a series of 71 eclipses occurring in ...

Solar Eclipse 2009 Tell us what you know bout this INCREDIBLE PHENOMENA, ending of the earth!!??

tiny.cc tiny.cc There are four types of solar eclipses: A total eclipse occurs when the Sun is completely obscured by the Moon. The intensely bright disk of the Sun is replaced by the dark silhouette of the Moon, and the much fainter corona is visible. During any one eclipse, totality is visible only from at most a narrow track on the surface of the Earth. An annular eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line, but the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun. Hence the Sun appears as a very bright ring, or annulus, surrounding the outline of the Moon. A hybrid eclipse is intermediate between a total and annular eclipse. At some points on the surface of the Earth it is visible as a total eclipse, whereas at others it is annular. Hybrid eclipses are rather rare. A partial eclipse occurs when the Sun and Moon are not exactly in line, and the Moon only partially obscures the Sun. This phenomenon can usually be seen from a large part of the Earth outside of the track of an annular or total eclipse. However, some eclipses can only be seen as a partial eclipse, because the umbra never intersects the Earth's surface. The match between the apparent sizes of the Sun and Moon during a total eclipse is a coincidence. The Sun's distance from the Earth is about 400 times the Moon's distance, and the Sun's diameter is about 400 times the Moon's diameter. Because these ratios are approximately the same, the sizes of the Sun and the Moon as seen from Earth ...

Partial Solar Eclipse 4 Jan 2011

A partial solar eclipse will occur on 4 January 2011. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth's view of the Sun. A partial solar eclipse occurs in the polar regions of the Earth when the center of the moon's shadow misses the earth. The eclipse will be visible over most of Europe, the Arabian peninsula, North Africa, and Western Asia. As seen from the Earth, a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and the Moon fully or partially covers the Sun as viewed from some location on Earth. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from Earth. Annular Solar Eclipse on 15 January 2010 Can be seen best in Tropical regions on the Equator, from Nigeria in Africa, crossing Indian Ocean, passing by the southern tip of India all the way to Korea in the far East. Its the first Solar Eclipse of the year 2010 Annular Solar Eclipses usually happens in winter time, as the Sun is at Perihelion ie at its nearest to Earth, so apparent diameter of the Sun is larger than that of the Moon, for that the Moon can not cover the Sun entirely leaving a ring of light around it.. Total Solar Eclipses howerver usually happens in sumer times as the sun at Aphelion ie at its furthest from Earth and its apparent diameter is smaller than the Moon and can be covered entirely... Partial Lunar Eclipse: 26 June 2010

Partial Lunar Eclipse 26 June 2010: .Visible mostly in Western US, Western Canada and Latin America apart from Brazil, b4 Moon Set. Australia, China and the Far East of Asia after Moon Rise Unfortunately its not visible from much of Northern Hemisphere and Africa A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth such that the earth blocks the sun's rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, there is always a full moon the night of a lunar eclipse. The type and length of an eclipse depend upon the Moon's location relative to its orbital nodes. The next total lunar eclipse will occur on December 21, 2010. Unlike a solar eclipse, which can only be viewed from a certain relatively small area of the world, a lunar eclipse may be viewed from anywhere on the night side of the Earth. A lunar eclipse lasts for a few hours, whereas a total solar eclipse lasts for only a few minutes at any given place. Some lunar eclipses have been associated with important historical events. The shadow of the Earth can be divided into two distinctive parts: the umbra and penumbra. Within the umbra, there is no direct solar radiation. However, as a result of the Sun's large angular size, solar illumination is only partially blocked in the outer portion of the Earth's shadow, which is given the name penumbra. A partial lunar eclipse occurs when only a portion of the Moon enters ...

Eclipses and Energy Shifts

Eclipses and Energy Shifts Since the dawn of time, there are few astronomical phenomena that are as exciting to the human mind as an eclipse. In Karmic astrology, the lunar nodes are seen as the connections or invisible threads between the Soul and its numerous past lives. In working with the energies surges of an Eclipse, some caution should be observed. Keep in mind that an eclipse is always a planetary cleansing process on a major scale, as well as an opportunity for a heavy duty Karma clearance on a personal level. Humanity Healing is offering a free e-book on working with the energies of an eclipse, Eclipses and Energy Shifts: A Survival Guide to Energy Shifts During Eclipses. Total Solar Eclipse 2009

Total Solar Eclipse 2009:Millions of people in Asia will see the longest total solar eclipse this century on Wednesday as swaths of India and China are plunged into darkness. Scores of amateur stargazers and scientists will travel long distances for the eclipse, which will last for about five minutes. The eclipse will first appear in the Gulf of Khambhat just north of Mumbai. It will move east across India, Nepal, Burma, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China before hitting the Pacific. The eclipse will cross some southern Japanese islands and will last be visible from land at Nikumaroro Island in the South Pacific nation of Kiribati. Elsewhere, a partial eclipse will be visible across much of Asia. The previous total eclipse, in August 2008, lasted two minutes and 27 seconds. This one will last six minutes and 39 seconds at its maximum point. Alphonse Sterling, a Nasa astrophysicist who will be following the eclipse from China, scientists are hoping data from the eclipse will help explain solar flares and other structures of the sun and why they erupt. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth so that the Sun is fully or partially covered. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth. At least two and up to five solar eclipses can occur each year on Earth, with between zero and two of them being total eclipses.[1] Total solar eclipses are nevertheless rare at any location because during each ...

2012 - 2015 - Is Jesus Coming Soon - Lunar Eclipses - Bible Prophecy

The Signs of Israel's Rebirth Lesson 1: The Parable of the Fig Tree Concluding Statement: Now it should also be perfectly clear what the parable of the fig tree in the Olivet Discourse means (Matt 24:32-34). As the disciples were walking into the city on Tuesday morning after Palm Sunday, they noticed that the tree which Jesus had cursed the day before had withered and dried up. Later, on Tuesday evening, when the memory of the withered fig tree was still fresh in their minds, Jesus spoke the parable in question. He said that when the church sees the fig tree leafing out again, it will know that "it is . . . at the doors." The Greek for "it is" can also be translated "he is." In prophecy, "door" is often a symbol for the passageway between heaven and earth (Rev. 4:1). What the parable means, therefore, is that when the nation of Israel revives after its coming disintegration and death in AD 70, the return of Christ will be imminent. www.themoorings.org Prophecy in the News - 2008-2015 video.google.com Are we in the end of days? - www.zimbio.com June 7th 1967 Jerusalem was restored to Israel and began to be built up in troublous times! 49 prophetic years x 360 days = 17640 days. JAXA/NASA/ESA Hinode - Solar Eclipse, November 25, 2011

Unless you're a penguin, you probably didn't see the solar eclipse that occurred last week over Antarctica and portions of South Africa and New Zealand. Fortunately, X-Ray Telescope on Hinode was on the job to capture this spectacular footage of the event. And as a bonus resulting from Hinode's orbital mechanics, three eclipses are observed for every one seen from the ground! This was the last solar eclipse of 2011; the next one won't occur for another six months on May 20th, 2012. Hinode is led by the Jaxa - Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency in collaboration with National Aeronautics and Space Administration - NASA, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), and the European Space Agency. Hinode is a Japanese mission developed, launched and operated by ISAS/JAXA, in partnership with NAOJ, NASA and STFC (UK). Additional operational support is provided by ESA and and NSC (Norway). solar eclipse of July 22 2009 - The Longest Total Eclipse of the 21st Century!

The solar eclipse of July 22, 2009 was the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century, lasting as much as 6 minutes and 39 seconds in some places. The eclipse was part of saros series 136, like the record-setting solar eclipse of July 11, 1991. The next event from this series will be on August 2, 2027. The exceptional duration was a result of the moon being near perigee, with the apparent diameter of the moon 8% larger than the sun (magnitude 1.080) and the Earth being near aphelion where the sun appeared slightly smaller. This was the second in the series of three eclipses in a month, with the lunar eclipse on July 7 and the lunar eclipse on August 6.

Solar Eclipse in Africa & Asia: Creates Ring of Fire (Footage)

15th January 2010- poeticaltvlive.ning.com A solar eclipse that reduced the sun to a blazing ring surrounding a sombre disk plunged millions of people in Africa and Asia into an eerie semi-darkness on Friday. The spectacle, visible in a roughly 300-kilometre (185-mile) band running 12900 kilometres (8062 miles) across the globe, set a record for the longest annular eclipse that will remain unbeaten for more than a thousand years. An annular eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly in front of the Sun but does not completely obscure it, thus leaving a ring -- an annulus -- of sunlight flaring around the lunar disk. The Moon's shadow first struck the southwestern tip of Chad and western Central African Republic at 0514 GMT and then reached Uganda, Kenya, and Somalia before racing across India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and China. Local media in the affected areas issued warnings about the dangers of looking directly at the sun, but fascinated onlookers thronged streets to witness the celestial phenomenon. "It's getting interesting. Birds are singing. It's actually getting cold here," said John Saitega, a 34-year-old father of six in Olte Tefi, 50 kilometres (30 miles) south of Nairobi. In India, where the eclipse was visible from the southern-most tip, astronomers and curious spectators watched in awe, using sunglasses and even ultra-dark welding masks as day turned into darkness. There were cheers and applause in the city of Bangalore when clouds cleared just in time to show ...

Total Solar Eclipse 11 July 2010

On Sunday, 11 July 2010 , a Total Eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses Earth's southern Hemisphere. The path of the Moon's umbral shadow crosses the South Pacific Ocean where it makes no landfall except for Mangaia (Cook Islands) and Easter Island (Isla de Pascua). The path of totality ends just after reaching southern Chile and Argentina. The Moon's penumbral shadow produces a partial eclipse visible from a much larger region covering the South Pacific and southern South America. Lunar Eclipse Dec 21 2010 -NJ-

Some film I took of the Lunar Eclipse earlier tonight. December 21st 2010 From New Jersey A total lunar eclipse will take place on December 20/21, 2010. It will be visible after midnight Eastern Standard Time on December 21 in North and South America. The beginning of the total eclipse will be visible from northern Europe just before sunrise. The end of the total eclipse will be visible rising at sunset for Japan and northeastern Asia; it will also be visible in the Philippines just after sunset (as a partial lunar eclipse). It will be the first total lunar eclipse in almost 3 years, the last being on February 20, 2008. It is the second of two lunar eclipses in 2010. The first was a partial lunar eclipse on June 26, 2010. It will be the first total lunar eclipse to occur on the day of the Northern Winter Solstice (Southern Summer Solstice) since 1638, and only the second in the Common Era.
