Along the way, I relate some history of the .44 Magnum and the role that the great Elmer Keith played in helping to bring the .44 Magnum handgun to us. This video is a chance to honor Elmer Keith and the .44 Magnum, one of America's very favorite calibers! I deeply appreciate Elmer's spirit being present to help me shoot pretty well for this video. The University of Southern Californias Thornton School of Music orchestras celebrated the career of screen composer Elmer Bernstein in an event hosted by KUSC-FM personality Jim Svejda. The tribute concert featured the USC Thornton Orchestra and the USC Thornton Jazz Orchestra performing selections from several memorable film scores from Bernstein's long and illustrious career. Mr. Bernstein, a former faculty member of the USC Thornton School, composed for both movies and television and is noted for many classic soundtracks including 'The Ten Commandments' and 'The Grifters.'

The Silencers (1966) is a quintessential 1960's spy spoof, directed by Phil Karlson. It is the first (and best) of four colourful Matt Helm features, with debonair 'Rat Pack' member Dean Martin cleverly cast as author Donald Hamilton's womanising smoothie, the Man from ICE (Intelligence Counter Espioage). The attitudes may have dated — this is very much of its time — but the women continue to delight, especially Stella Stevens (Gail) as a divine klutz. Also making an impact are former Miss Israel Daliah Lavi (Tina aka 'Cowboy') and one-time MGM siren Cyd Charisse, whose title song is a highlight. Although one of the greatest female dancers in the history of the movie musical, Cyd Charisse singing in films was almost always dubbed. A young Vikki Carr performed her singing in The Silencers (1966).
