Strange times for Texas .... "EL PASO, Texas — The US Geological Survey confirmed on its website Monday night that a 2.5 magnitude earthquake shook the East El Paso area. Residents in the area flooded the KFOX 14 newsroom with calls and our Facebook page with questions about a "boom" they heard or the shaking they felt around 8 pm The epicenter of the earthquake was in Staton Heights, in the far east side. People out in the early morning say they didn't feel a thing and didn't even know about it. The USGS confirmed the earthquake struck at 8:11 pm, 11 miles east of El Paso and was just three miles below the surface. There was no word how long it lasted, and there were no reports of damage. In May 2011 a 4.0 earthquake hit near El Paso. Also back in the 1960s the area was rattled by small quakes. UTEP professor Aaron Velasco told KFOX-14 morning news that El Paso was due for an earthquake. Velasco says the Rio Grande Rift runs along the FranklinMountains, and small tremors near the Sun City are not uncommon. In fact, he said earthquakes happen in clusters and it is likely El Paso could feel another earthquake." www.kfoxtv.com

El Paso Christmas Light 2010 - Techno Show
This year The Fred Loya House has over 400000 lights dancing to the sounds of a Techno Christmas. This is one of two shows being played this year. The second show will be posted soon and it is the the traditional show featuring lights dancing to The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The house is located in El Paso Texas, and is at the corner of Bob Mitchell and Paseo De Oro. Shows will run from Dec. 3 to Jan. 1st 2011. Show times are 6, 7 and 8 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This has truly become a must see of the Christmas season.
