John Entwistle "The Ox" Bass Solo (5:15)

This is a solo from the late great Mr Entwistle, imo the best bassist of all time. The solo is taken from a live performance of 5:15 (Monday Nov. 4 1996 - The Nutter Center, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio). I've seen clips around YouTube of his 5:15 solos, but not this one (correct me if I'm wrong). This one has a little better quality and is cleaner. Enjoy! :-)

Peg Entwistle rare film appearance in "Thirteen Women"(1932)

Here is an all too brief chance to see and hear the legendary Peg Entwistle in the only surviving film footage of her tragically short career. Millicent Lilian "Peg" Entwistle ( February 5th 1908 - September 16th 1932) is today unfortunately remembered more for the bizarre circumstances of her death, rather than the contributions she made as a Broadway actress and (briefly) Hollywood starlet. Here are the two surviving scenes from her 1932 RKO movie Thirteen Women, in which she plays "Hazel Cousins", one of the thirteen women in the title. Peg shares the first scene with Mary Duncan, and in the second she murders her old man after receiving a rather peculiar astrological prediction from nasty Myrna Loy. Although her appearances are frustratingly short, Peg shows enough talent in these clips to suggest that she had a reasonable acting ability which sadly never got the chance to develop and flourish on screen. Watch and weep at the promise that went to waste.........

John Entwistle - I Believe In Everything

Have you ever had the feeling that you've been this place before But you haven't, not in this life You've seen it, you've done it, you've heard it all before But you haven't, not in this life. Do you believe in Santa Claus and loving at first sight I hope you do, cause I do Do you believe in ghosts that rattle chains at dead of night I hope you do, cause I do. Cause I believe in everything Cause that's the simplest way for me to be I believe in everything To believe in everything you hear and see. Have you ever had the feeling that you've been this place before But you haven't, not in this life You've seen it, you've done it, you've heard it all before But you haven't, not in this life. Do you believe in witchcraft, Heaven and Hell, King Kong Reincarnation, fairies at the bottom of the garden Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, goblins, ghouls and witches Things that go bump in the night Telepathy, eternal youth, Mickey Mouse, Father Christmas. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it you would even say it glows All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names...

John Entwistle and Keith Moon- Bogey man

The song was originally written for The Who's 1978 album Who Are You by John Entwistle, but was rejected by the band for being too humorous. A demo was recorded by Entwistle and Keith Moon. The demo went largely forgotten, until John resorted to his old demos for material the soundtrack to the 1997 children's television programme- Van Pires, to help him meet a contract which agreed he would write and record 13 new songs and a theme tune in 3 months. When the band's drummer, Steve Luongo heard the demo, he recognised Keith Moon's drumming on the demo, and the band decided to record a new version of the song with Moon's original drum track.
The Who - The Ox - John Entwistle ( Check More Info)

John Alec Entwistle (October 9, 1944 -- June 27, 2002) was an English bass guitarist, songwriter, singer, and horn player, who was best known as the bass guitarist for the rock band The Who. He is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential rock bassists of all time,[1][2] creating an aggressive lead sound that helped influence contemporary and later bassists such as Steve Harris, Lemmy, Geddy Lee, John Paul Jones, Phil Lesh, Noel Redding, Billy Sheehan, Chris Squire, Duff McKagan, Markus Grosskopf, Mike Watt, Peter Hook & Krist Novoselic. He was nicknamed "The Ox" not for his size or his tendency to stand still during shows, but because of his strong constitution—his seeming ability to "eat, drink or do more than the rest of them." Bill Wyman, bassist for the Rolling Stones, described him as "the quietest man in private but the loudest man on stage." For much the same reason, he was often known by the nickname "Thunderfingers" by his bandmates and Who fans.en.wikipedia.org
John Entwistle- My Size

Ever since I first saw you I never seem to get you of my mind When I tried to say hello you tried to go, I made you stay behind Now your always hangin' round You never touch the ground You make me feel so small Wish I was ten feet tall. Remember when I lost my cool Shouted at you, you nearly hit the ceiling Your trying to make me feel like a fool Ignoring me you really hurt my feelings Now your always hangin' round You never touch the ground You make me feel so small Wish I was ten feet tall. I'm gonna bring you down to my size One of these days I'm gonna make you fall I'm gonna bring you down to my size Smash your head against the wall. This is a song by the Who called 5:15. It was played in Las Vegas in 1999. It features John Entwistle's now-famous bass solo. Notice how the camera men focus on Zak Starkey and Pete Townshend drinking a cola instead of on John's crazy playing!
