The Escapist - The Streets
During a great period of intense mixing we decided that it might be nice to shoot a video. This isn't the way the record industry works and so it was under the radar of the label and done totally for us by us on a shoe string. It was totally different from any other promo that I've made in that it was something real that we just filmed rather than trying to create something real looking using lots of people and lots of angles. I feel like it's more than a video in that sense. Aswell as looking quite odd without all the singing and quick cuts

I HOPE THE AUDIO WILL REMAIN AND THAT MYACCOUNT WON' T BE REMOVED AGAIN this is the full version of the amv 'nightingale in a golden cage' that I had uploaded with the account 'snset' now removed. The song 'Escapist' refers to the fact that Alphonse' s soul wants to come back to his original body, escaping from the iron body where it has been placed. the armour is a 'golden cage' since it is a body 'theorically' immortal, which does not need to be feed or to sleep which can never be tired, but despite of these advantages Al's soul 'the nighingale', wants to escape from this prison, because he can't feel anything inside of it. The portal too can be considered a prison, from where Al's body must escape in order to return to reality. The whole amv is the story of alphonse, from when he lost his body to the moment he regained it. hope you like it

Tuomas Holopainen's Escapist (Nightwish) - Escapist is actually really fun song to play, but not so much when you try to record it 4-5 times in a row... As you can see it turned dark outside until I finished it! :) And the best part is the Nightingale singing in the beginning of the video! ... As with the Amaranth, I had to change some parts 'cause those are almost impossible to play on piano :) So in some parts it's more a cover, or a variation, when compared to original version... This is a blend of my crappy camera audio and the source audio I recorded in realtime with cubase. I used a limiter with a channel strip, as well as some reverb on the singing part which was automated from the training session I made friday. I wasn't what I'd call a singer before this but considering I have a cold and openly admit I'm am amateur at singing I think it went rather well. Anyhow, I will be more than happy to upload the original camera footage for any nay sayers and audio as well if requested. Nothing was moved around, replaced, or auto-tuned in the main vocal(this is obvious). The backing vocals I did myself while learning the song and recording myself for error checking. I spent about 3 hours making the video with a total of about 9 takes and 3 where I actually got more than 40 seconds in. Not claiming to be perfect but I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did while making it. Its been a fun little break. In MY opinion NW were already an almost normal band when Tarja had to leave NW because she didn't sing very classical any more. Listen to Oceanborn and then to Once and you will hear the difference! Oh, and there's a mistake at 2:02 : it must be "an" and not "and". Sorry about that, I didn't notice it until uploaded it.

Hitler isn't happy about the split between Extra Credits and the Escapist... I feel this video needs a few disclaimers/clarifications: 1. The usual copyright-related stuff (I do not claim ownership for this. Downfall is property of Constantin films) 2. For those of you who have no idea what this is about, here's a link: www.escapistmagazine.com 3. I understand that very few people know all the details of the situation. One can argue that the Escapist was perhaps justified in its decision. Many people don't see it that way though, and this video is a reflection on that. 4. The views expressed by Hitler in this video does not necessarily reflect my own. For example, I like Zero Punctuation and MovieBob (though I do think Bob can be a bit elitist at times and some of Yahtzee's jokes are in poor taste. Humor is often truth exaggerated, after all). Imagine my reaction being similar to Hitler's, but with 80% less bile. 5. Yes I know Extra Credits is back on Youtube now. I think it's great they're still going, regardless of the website it's hosted on. Hitler's rage is more about the state of The Escapist. 6. IT'S SATIRICAL. 7. If you haven't seen Downfall yet, I highly suggest you check it out. It's an excellent movie, and Bruno Ganz's portrayal of Hitler is outstanding.
