The song used is "Numbers" by the legendary experimental electronic group Kraftwerk from Germany. This band was one of the primary inspirations behind the electro-funk sound heard in the United States in the late 70s to early 80s. "The Hip Hop Homeroom" was an original Hip Hop musical starring 11 of the San Francisco Bay Area's best Hip Hop dance crews. He brought some players from Jonny's band as well; Barry Alexander on drums and Jimmy Anton on bass. Here they do Tower of Power's funk classic, "What Is Hip". Helping out on guitars are Fort Worth's Jerry Clark and from just across the Red River, Matt Woodburn.
