A team of 40 painters worked around the clock for 18 days in Abu Dhabi to paint an Etihad Airbus A330-200 in the colours of Manchester City. A whopping 450 litres of paint were used to complete the job. See the masterpiece take shape here.

Designed to enhance Abu Dhabi's place as a top tourist and MICE destination, the campaign sees Etihad unveil a number of exciting promotional activities across the globe. A dedicated website, essentialabudahbi.com, backed with brochures on board all Etihad aircraft features the exclusive offers. The program is supported with an international marketing campaign co-funded by all the partners; as well as being promoted through all partner outlets and sales channels. In addition, a new Etihad Airbus A330 aircraft, painted in a striking "Visit Abu Dhabi in 2011" livery, carries the message to many international destinations around the world.
Etihad Airways - A340-600 Formula 1 Livery
The A340-600 aircraft has a 'dynamic' design with white at the nose leading to red at the end of the plane. The official F1 logo is featured on the engines and motor racing's famous 'chequered' flag is on the tail fin. In addition to the A340 F1-branded aircraft Etihad also has an A320 aircraft painted in the livery of an F1 racing car. The A320 has flown since last 2008 to every destination in Etihad's short haul network including Amman, Cairo and Beirut.

Filmed on 13th August 2011 at Manchester Airport, this video features, as usual, many aircraft in the titles, as well as the main feature. Check out the waving pilots from Qatar, British Airways, Icelandair and a passenger waving from a bmibaby flight. The main video includes Star Alliance BMI A320 (as featured in a video I took in Edinburgh just a week previous), Singapore Airlines 777, Thomas Cook 757 with Egypt decals, Etihad A330 and my favourite, Aer Arann Regional ATR 42 landing just as Thomas Cook 767 begins takeoff roll. "Change" for Etihad Airlines
A new day is dawning for sophisticated luxury air travel with Etihad Airways, in a pair of spots directed by director Jim Weedon. The spots were produced by Bare Films UK. Weedon is repped in the US by GARTNER. The stylish "Change" spot opens with beautiful imagery as daybreak pours through darkened clouds. Shafts of sunlight cascade upon Paris' Eifel Tower, while, overhead, a glistening Etihad plane soars through the air, its sleeping passengers stir from a peaceful slumber in Diamond First class. As our Etihad airliner touches down on the runway, a new era of luxury and comfort in air travel is ushered forth, with Etihad airline personnel greeting passengers - and an impromptu fashion shoot taking place on the tarmac. Air travel will never be the same.

MEL-DAM via AUH. It all started out in the Melbourne Airport, with friendly and lenient check-in staff, and great meal vouchers. We then made our way to our gate to begin boarding, being welcomed on board by friendly, bubbly, warm crew that were very down to earth. All meals and beverages were absolutely delightful. Includes MEL-AUH leg, which took 14 hrs 20 mins, and the AUH-DAM leg, which took approx. 3 hrs 40 mins. Enjoy !

A short video clip of Etihad E150 (Airbus Industrie A340-600) Coral Economy Class shot with Sony HDR CX500V camcorder on May 7th 2010. The flight experience was wonderful. The crew members were friendly and trained well. I had the option to power my laptop for watching movies saved in my hard disc. But I could find movies of my taste from their on demand movie list. I hope to watch more of them on my way back. In a related note, I liked the food as well.
