This is another clip originally called "firing squad" once found on youtube that i can no longer find so i am reposting it. It shows three women executed in a Jewish ghetto in WWII. I was totally taken not only by their helplessness to change their fate but also by the callousness of having them wander anxiously around the courtyard awaiting their own turn to be shot. They would see the corpse of the woman before them carried and dumped in the barrow knowing that would be their own fate. Sometime later i was watching a DVD that a friend lent me of an American mini-series called Holocaust starring Meryl Streep when she was young. i suddenly realised that these were the scenes that i had seen on youtube. the second woman was a nurse working with the doctor at the centre of the story. she sneeked out of the ghetto to get medicine, got caught and paid the highest price. The third one was a teenage mother who had gone outside to get food for her baby, now her baby will have no mother.
