This song is called Eve of War and is a remake song by the Australian experimental metal band Alchemist. Guitarist, Roy Torkington had this to say about the song. "1998 was the 20th anniversary of Jeff Wayne's Musical version of War of the Worlds and the 100th anniversary of the original novel. Rodney presented the band with the idea of covering a track as the timing seemed perfect and we needed a release between the Spiritech and Organasm Albums. Work began on the track and it was recorded later that year at Backbeach studios in Victoria. We had JJ Nixon and Pod People come down and recorded a guitar part with us and later performed it live with the band. The resulting EP release sold exceptionally well throughout Australia and enjoyed solid airplay on the JJJ national radio network. The song became an instantly recognizable crowd pleaser and either opened or closed Alchemist's live sets for some time.
