This video shows you how to make a tincture (liquid extract) out of stevia leaves (dried or fresh can be used) to preserve the sweeness of the stevia over time and for the convenience of having it in liquid form for cooking, baking and brewing. A follow-up video will show how to strain and reduce the tincture for greater potency. In this video, I brew a kit that was sent as a gift. It is a partial extract kit containing liquid malt extract, grains, and hops. Here is the Mead recipe that I drank in this video. * 2 parts water to 1 part of honey ( the mead you had was 100% organic honey ) supermarket honey also works, though. * add honey to water, you can boil but don't have to * add to fermentation bucket, cool to pitching temp * add wine yeast, or wyeast 'sweet mead' yeast * Ferment for 2 weeks, or until it kinda stops * Rack to secondary * Add 16oz of fresh strawberries * Let ferment out * age for about 3 months minimum. Technically a mead with fruit is called a melomel, and a mead with spices a metheglin.

Bernard Leach is, without a doubt, the best known and most prominent of British studio potters. Born in Hong Kong, he was taken almost immediately to Japan by his grandparents. He came to England at the age of ten for schooling. In 1909 he returned to Japan to teach etching which he had himself learnt from Frank Brangwyn. After ten years of life in the East - both Japan and China - he met Hamada. The following year they both came to England and set up the Leach Pottery at St Ives. The years between the wars were hard for Leach; he spent much time re-building kilns, experimenting with materials, travelling - but not achieving much critical or financial success. It was not until after the Second World War, and the publication of his first book, A Potters' Book, that he became widely recognised as a master in his field. He continued to pot until 1972, but did not stop his ceaseless travelling. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London held an exhibition - The Art of Bernard Leach - in 1977, and in 1979 he died.

Millionenspiel is an edited version of the original track that opens the forthcoming Can album 'The Lost Tapes' released on Mute on 18 June (Europe) /June 19 (US) The Lost Tapes is a 3 CD set of unreleased tracks, they are an opportunity to hear unreleased material, brand new tracks as if you were there, from the halcyon days, not outtakes. The tracks cover the period from 1968 through to 1977 and were compiled by Irmin Schmidt and Daniel Miller. The album features studio material recorded at Schloss Nörvenich and Can Studio, Weilerswist with the Can line up of Holger Czukay on bass, Michael Karoli on guitars, Jaki Liebezeit on drums and Irmin Schmidt on keyboards, and on most tracks, vocals from Malcolm Mooney or Damo Suzuki. Irmin Schmidt explains "Obviously the tapes weren't really lost, but were left in the cupboards of the studio archives for so long everybody just forgot about them. Everybody except Hildegard, who watches over Can and its work like the dragon over the gold of the Nibelungen and doesn't allow forgetting." This striking documentary focuses on the construction of the hidden conduit for North Sea gas lurking under the picturesque Norfolk fenland. 'Pipeline Through the Fens' was filmed during the 12 weeks in 1968 it took to lay 43 miles of pipeline under the county. The film (made on behalf of The Gas Council) focuses on the considerable engineering achievement involved in linking sections of pipe (each one 40 feet long, 36 inches wide and weighing 4.5 tons) and burying them 9ft below the surface. The workers scrupulous care is understandable - you really wouldn't want to be trying to find a leak later on!
