Man City 4-2 Leicester | The FA Cup 3rd Round Replay - 18/01/11

The FA Cup Third Round - Sven-Goran Eriksson's Eastlands return ended in disappointment as Manchester City edged past his Leicester side in an FA Cup third-round replay. Carlos Tevez's rifled effort put the home side ahead only for Paul Gallagher to level from the penalty spot. Two goals in 90 seconds - from Patrick Vieira and Adam Johnson - swung the game in the home side's favour, before Chris Weale saved a Tevez penalty. Lloyd Dyer gave Leicester late hope but Aleksandar Kolarov sealed the home win.

Leicester 2-2 Man City | The FA Cup 3rd Round - 09/01/11

Sunday, 9 January 2011 Leicester v Manchester City, R3, 16:00 Andy King struck the equaliser as Leicester deservedly took big-spending Manchester City to a replay after a pulsating FA Cup third-round tie. The Foxes took the lead inside a minute when new signing Sol Bamba stabbed home from inside the six-yard box. James Milner levelled with a crisp left-foot strike on 23 minutes before Carlos Tevez scored just before the break with a clever close-range finish. King pounced after keeper Joe Hart spilled a cross in the 64th minute. Sven-Goran Eriksson's Championship team produced an enterprising performance that, at times, had their Premier League opponents firmly on the back foot.

Birmingham City 2-3 Bolton | The FA Cup 6th Round

Birmingham City vs Bolton Wanderers, R6, The FA Cup 6th Round - 12/03/11 Kevin Davies stirred memories of Nat Lofthouse as the barrel-chested Bolton striker bludgeoned his team into the FA Cup semi-finals at St Andrews on Saturday. But the visitors owed as much to their extraordinary goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen as to their talismanic captain. Jaaskelainen produced the save of the day when he touched a diagonal drive from Kevin Phillips against his right post. He also made two immaculate interceptions with his feet that served as an example to many of the outfielders on an afternoon of grim tackling. The first went virtually unnoticed in the opening period, but the second caused uproar as he raced out to challenge Cameron Jerome. The Finn poked the ball away before the two men collided amid clamour for a rightly denied penalty. As the only survivor of the Bolton side beaten on penalties by Aston Villa in their last semi-final appearance 11 years ago, Jaaskelainen had more reason than most to celebrate after his 500th appearance for the club. Birmingham, despite missing nine first-choice players and losing two men through injury in the opening half-hour, played with enormous spirit but equally great naivety. Manager Alex McLeish said: "You couldn't ask for more in terms of commitment and effort, but we were a bit sloppy and they were silly goals. "We came back twice and I felt we deserved a replay, but they undid us right at the end."

1957 FA CUP FINAL MANCHESTER UNITED VS ASTON VILLA - THE FULL MATCH

The 1957 FA Cup Final was a football match played on 4 May 1957 at Wembley Stadium. The match was contested by Aston Villa and Manchester United. Villa won 2-1, with both of their goals scored by Peter McParland. Tommy Taylor got United's goal. The final was marred by a collision after only six minutes between Villa forward Peter McParland and United goalkeeper Ray Wood, which left Wood unconscious with a broken cheekbone. Wood left the pitch and Jackie Blanchflower took over in goal for United. Wood eventually rejoined the game in an outfield position as a virtual passenger before returning to goal for the last seven minutes of the game. Villa's victory gave them their seventh FA Cup title, a record number at the time. Villa have not been able to add to that total since, which has been passed by three clubs -- including Manchester United, who now hold the record with eleven wins. In December 2007, BBC Four screened a documentary, A Game of Two Eras, which compared the 1957 final with its 2007 counterpart.
