Since their first scratch-built figure, there has been feverish demand for their subsequent projects: The Protector upgrade Kit and 2nd edition of their Crossfire Gestalt upgrades. Botcon 2010 gave lucky attendees a first-hand glimpse of both items at the TFsource booth and now Fansproject has provide one of their first complete prototypes of their 2nd Crossfire set: Munitioner and Explorer. This highly-anticipated set comes in the form of two scratch-built figures meant to replace limbs of the Energon Bruticus mold, taking the Crossfire concept leaps and bounds further than the first Aerialbot upgrade. Unfortunately the set has been plagued with production delays, keeping fans patiently waiting. TFsource is proud to give you this first look at Fansproject's Explorer and Munitioner before they will be available for purchase. This set is going to be hot. In fact, it's amazing that the set hasn't sold out yet. Since Fansproject's announcement of the Bruticus upgrade, the price of an ROTF Bruticus set has more than doubled and its hard to find someone willing to give one up for less than Fifty US dollars. For the past few years, TFsource.com has been stepping out from the crowd by offering exclusive redecos of 3rd party Transformer figures as part of their unique Stocking Stuffer campaign. This campaign is intended to be a thank you from the site to it's loyal customers and are typically very niche versions of classic characters. Past stocking stuffers have consisted of recdecos of JustitToys' Worlds Smallest Dinobots. TFsource has even gone the extra mile and offered incredibly limited chromed chase versions of some of these stocking stuffers. They are randomly packed in with the regular assortment and share a likeness to coveted Lucky Draw toys. In 2009, TFsource breaks from their 3 year tradition of offering World's smallest Dinobot stocking stuffers and moves on to the intriguing Superion Add-on kit by Fansproject. This alternate version comes cast in a bone-white plastic and is labeled as the "snow man version" of this Gestalt upgrade. The return of 5-robot gestalts during the Energon toyline was a welcome throwback, however their execution was met with mottled response. This add-on kit improves the Aerialbot combiner set so much, that the toy almost looks naked without it. Fansproject has once again improved upon Hasbro and Takara's already magnificent creations. Cons: - Matrix is very small and feels off in the figure. - Matrix being located so low in chest/stomach is a tad odd, but not a major issue. - Gun handle is made so it is hard to fit into the hand very well. - Would have liked the gun to be a shade or two darker. - The price point may scare people away. Overall I like it though.

TFsource tends to focus on a lot of Transformers-relate figures that you cannot find in US stores and as such, many of the recently available 3rd Party toys have been made available on TFsource.com. Fansproject is quickly becoming one of the most well-respected 3rd party Transformers-related toy manufacturers out there after their incredibly successful City Commander armor kits and their Superion upgrade kits. For the first time, Fansproject has created their very own stand-alone figure which does not require a mainstream toy for assembly. Named the Warbot Defender, this figure is an homage to Generation 1 Springer first seen in the Transformers Animated Movie. It features die-cast metal parts as well as three completely separate modes! So has Fansproject struck gold for the 3rd time? Follow me as we watch this toy spring into action. Warbot Defender is incredibly well-designed. As Fansproject's name implies, each of its creations are aimed directly at the wants and desired of long-time Transformers fans. The ability for this figure to creatively stow and utilize his weapons in all modes should definitely be tugging at the heartstrings of the original G1 collector. Although Warbot Defender has a bit of difficulty staying standing, most will find either of the alt modes to be the most successful display option for this piece. This is something that we expect <b>...</b>
