Omar Faruk Tekbilek - I Love You!

A masterpiece from the Album "One Truth" (1999). Listen & Enjoy it. Omar Faruk Tekbilek had been studying Sufism, the mystical branch of Islam, with the thought of becoming a Sufi cleric. At 15, he quit school to become a professional musician. "But I never quit studying, though," he maintains. "In fact, I am still studying; it's endless. Music for me is not something to show off. It's my life. It's the shortest path to God. Playing is prayer for me." He went to Istanbul and at the age of 17 met the Mevlevi Dervishes, the ancient Sufi order of Turkey. He did not join the order, but felt profoundly influenced by their mystical approach to sound and to the spirit. Another, almost equally mystical influence would soon appear, from an unlikely source. The young Tekbilek became friend with flute and saxophone player named Ismet Siral, who had some unusual ideas about music theory. "He would say things like, let's play for birds, let's play for pictures." OFT says about Burhan Tonguch, his rhythm teacher: "He put the idea in my mind that everything is a rhythmic instrument. And everyone is a percussionist. Without the strike, there is no sound." Despite, or perhaps because of, this unconventional outlook, Faruk's skills were much in demand in the studios of Istanbul, and in 1971, at the age of 20, made his first brief tour of the United States with a Turkish classical/folk ensemble. The Tree of Patience was about to put out an unexpected limb. "I try to play a song the way it's ...

Faruk Sabanci - Jessica's Sanctuary (Original Mix)

Download on iTunes: bit.ly Download on Beatport: bit.ly We're at a time that the up and coming talents seem to be getting younger and younger, as they start producing. Another promising prospect of tomorrow, is granted to us by Turkish producer Faruk Sabanci. The 18-year old has been involved in the scene for two years already, owning his own label and already clocking up 15 releases, including his team-up with Truby on VANDIT, 'Leaving Ankara'. His latest tune 'Jessica's Sanctuary' has kept him away from daylight, spending many hours in the studio again. But as is the case with every young talent: every single second was worth it. 'Jessica's Sanctuary' seems to be describing a dark place, full of bold bass and deep sound effects. But there's a spark of light in there, for gentle piano-lines fill a heartfelt break and turn into tight synths after this highlight moment. Faruk has made a grand debut on the AROPA label, that's for sure. On the remix, it's Californian producer Ken Loi who added some of his magic to 'Jessica's Sanctuary'. As the original version was aiming for the prog-trance corner, Ken Loi's rework kicks in with more uplifting sounds, including an orchestral break.

Masoud feat. Hannah Ray - Here We Go (Faruk Sabanci's Sunshine Mix)

Download on iTunes: bit.ly Download on Beatport: bit.ly Masoud Fouladi Moghaddam - that's the full name of Andy Moor's latest musical discovery - and a highly talented one! It's been only two years since Masoud first revealed his skills. In the meantime, his catalogue contains stunning pieces like 'Blinded' with Laurie and 'Leave It All Behind' featuring the stunning voice of Josie. This time, he's back with a marvelous EP on AVA Recordings. On prog-rocking masterpiece 'Here We Go', a familiar voice can be heard. Hannah Ray, who already added some of her very own magic to the strong tracks of Shogun and Tritonal, lent Masoud her voice, making the track sounding bittersweet and dreamy. This effect becomes even stronger when listening to the 'Ginatron Orchestral Mix'. The original's prog-elements changed places with down-tempo beats, lovely orchestra-sounds and a choir to back up Hannah's voice. 'Skyward' rides a sound quite contrasting to the EP's flipside. The gentle build up of weapon of prog leads you directly into an addictive synth-harmony, fading into tight beats and refined effects. Another quality Masoud release, ready to surprise you!

It's my second try in drifting in real ever. The lesson was basically totally different from the 1st one as the idea was to link everything by initiating drift from dry asphalt to wet slippery (I felt like on ice) surface and then change back again to go through the U-turn. To be honest, in the beginning I thought "damn it's gonna be like on ice" but after the lesson I realized the meaning of it so I was actually happy it looked like that. Big thanks to my instructor Faruk Kugay :). I'm glad I had a lesson with him. He showed me some important tricks, how to react in these kind of situations etc. I wouldn't learn all of that if not the tricky layout as well. Hope you like it.

Kaya Project album Desert Phase. Following hot on the heels of ' and So It Goes', this latest excursion into global electronica is inspired by windswept journeys through the Sonoran Desert, the Thar Desert and the Northern Sahara. For 'Desert Phase' Seb Taylor and Natasha Chamberlain draw upon their personal experiences of time spent in these 3 deserts to convey the spirit of these mysterious landscapes and their inhabitants. The album includes many of the recordings captured by Seb and Natasha in Arizona, Rajasthan and Morocco, from the desert dwelling musicians of Jaisalmer to Moroccan bazaars and atmospheric desert winds recorded amongst the sand dunes in North America. While some of the tracks reflect the timeless, haunting and spacious nature of the desert, many are a reflection of the people that inhabit these areas and are a tribute to their resilience, optimism and joyous attitudes in a seemingly harsh and unforgiving environment. Other tracks are rooted in folklore and cinematic myth like the dusty desert/cowboy vibes of 'The Stranger Rolls In', 'Calico Stomp' and 'Arizona Morning Cocoon'. Omar Faruk Tekbilek - La Ilaha Il Allah!

A masterpiece from Omar Faruk Tekbilek's album "Whirling" (1994). Listen & Enjoy it. La ilaha il Allah (Arabic: لا إله إلا الله‎, lā ilāha illallāh) is part of the Muslim proclamation of faith or šahādah. The Arabic phrase translates as: "There is no deity except God/Allah". Other translations are: ...there is no god but Allâh... ...there is no God save Allâh,... ...there is no deity save God... (see Internet) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Omar Faruk Tekbilek had been studying Sufism, the mystical branch of Islam, with the thought of becoming a Sufi cleric. "He would say things like, let's play for birds, let's play for pictures." OFT says about Burhan Tonguch, his rhythm teacher: "He put the idea in my mind that everything is a rhythmic ...
