This is my home made electric bike. Here you will see me doing 60km/h in first gear, the bike has 16 gears. I am yet to find a length of road long enough and straight enough to really see its full potential. Donor bike was a second hand "Huffy" mountain bike. You may have seen these bikes for sale at Big W or K-mart. Starter motor is off a truck, draws heaps of current and produces massive amounts of torque. Not built for long trips, goes hard and fast and motor gets hot after a while. Battery is an Exide Extra X56D putting out 550 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) Awesome fun GO AND BUILD ONE! By the way the water bottle is a temporary fire extinguisher.

Dual motor e-bike reaching very fast speed of 47-48 mph in minimal space. Bicycle as seen is running at 5600W with 2WD. This bike does come with the option of running at 8000W or 5600W. We chose 5600W because we felt 8000W is not needed and just spins the tires needlessly and also puts added stress on components. The pull is quite amazing on this thing. This particular video is the first impressions of our first ride. The space we ran it is just slightly downhill but also around a bend so there is less than 350 feet to really get on the throttle. Later testing on flat ground yielded 50 MPH on GPS and Radar! Total system weight ready to ride is only 65 lbs! A perm motor and a controller was all we needed. Single sprocket and beefy bmx chain. We messed with different teeth until we found this setup good. My Homemade and designed 5000 watt 300 amp scooter go's 30 MPH. and with a larger sprocket could go faster. I made the frame to hold the Etek Pem132 Briggs and Straton electric motor and Altrack controller, also I used a differential and a universial to camber the rear Honda comstar wheels. I made the neck to mount BSA front forks and the Triumph headlight, using Yamaha blinker lights, and a 750 Honda hydralic brake lever, lines and rear caliper. The front fender started out Harley Davidson sporter and the rear fender was made from half round steal shell by adding the front and rear panels and the wheel well rolled edge all around. The (Woody look) rear trunk bonnet I made from pine and mohogony adding the frenched 1959 Cadiliac bullet tailighits. The seat is a Harley road king, and the front covers that enclose the 4 12 volt batteries I made out of an aluminum baking pan. This was a 2 year project and I would like to produce these (with modifications) for sale but I am an artist and not a salesmen. Thanks Wayne Kohler

This is very high performance motor only needing 36v to go really fast! It's a huge savings. (ebay.com) don't pay more than $300 Curtis 300A (1204 series...don't buy 15xx series) don't pay more than $150 you need to start with SLA batteries (cheap, $100 for 4), then when you realize the power, move up to Lifepo4 a123. (or else you WILL crash). welding cables, heavy duty 250amp switch, 20 m6 lugs, 2 x steel bars 60cm long 5mm wide each, and two 4cm wide spacer bars(same width as bars but 4 x thicker), you need to drill them both so buy 2 6mm drill bits for metal (use oil to make it easier to drill thick metal), buy 10 x m6 threaded bar + 30 nuts + 30 washers. buy from cyclone the bottom bracket + 3 chainwheel ($67) and get a bicycle shop to fit it for you. buy hx 610 KMC chain and chain breaker to mount the motor onto the chain drive. THAT'S IT! :)))))))
