Fast Tracker II what a program it was!! this piece of music took us so long to get done, due to all those effects you can hear there.. everything was meticulously programmed.. there were not plugins like for instance reverb, delay and such stuff.. just to mention few ones of them. The hammond delay you will probably notice, was made manually, duplicating several times the melody-phrase and decreasing the volume time by time; some padding was added too (if u put attention, u can see those notes scrolling down in blocks next to each other). The cut-off effect on the bassline was done note by note, using the related parameter to filter and manipulate the single note-sound. There would be so much more to discuss about, but let's have a listen and hope you will enjoy it! :)

This is a version of the intro music to Great Giana Sisters on the Amiga, originally written by Chris Huelsbeck. This version was was done by me in about 1997, I sampled the SID sounds from the original Commode C64 version, then recording each channel separately. I then sampled C notes and each drum sample then chopped them up. I would then play back each channel separately and recreate what I heard in Fasttracker. Making songs this way would then give you the full tune, with the ability to make a snazzy remix, or just record it for musical prosperity in your chosen format. Mods were cool because you could see each sample being played at it's respective note. Creating music in this style eventually gave you the ability to "see" other songs you heard :) When I hear a song on the radio, I imagine it in a tracker format. And you never loose it :D

I originally fell in love with the music on the Spectrum 128k, and many years later when I got my PC - I decided to remake it as a music module in Fasttracker. I originally sampled various sounds from a Commodore 64's SID chip to recreate this beauteous sound! Enjoy! Original 8 bit music was made by the wonderful Jonathan Dunn. By the way, this was done in 1997,a mere 12 years ago - and yes I have older mods!

This is the ORIGINAL Fast Tracker II Module (.xm) of the great Underwater Music found on the Demo One 1998 (DEMO1V6). This track is know with this name, but I have not found the original name The module was only arranged to make it more similar to the one played by the PlayStation hardware, this includes panpots and volume settings (mixing), because opened in raw mode it have all sounds centered. My experience with trackers is not at a big level, so maybe I've not enabled those functions; there is also another part, that you can hear downloading the provided mp3 file below. www.divshare.com (I'm not sure about the sounds sample rate on the last part) You can obviously find the module in the Demo disc, along with the samples and arrange the track as you like. This is NOT my work, all the materials (the module and the sounds) are copyright of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. In most cases, I used Fasttracker 2, which was an awesome little 200k DOS program. I wrote this song in 1998. Some people might recognize it, as I re-wrote it in the much more recent album "Crossroads". The trackname is "Are You Aware", with beat programming by Trx. altusmusic.ca
