FCPX to Resolve to FCP7 and back
Since version 8.1 Resolve can open and export FCP X XML format. This means that you can edit in FCP X, send the project to Resolve. The other cool thing is that Resolve can also generate and open FCP7XML. This means that you can now send timelines from FCPX to FCP7 and from FCP7 to FCPX thru Resolve. Here's how

FCPX Sin City Effect Tutorial (leave one thing colour)
Tutorial for Final Cut Pro X for the Sin City look. This tutorial is in thanks to bradyoshiro who posted a video showing it was possible and telling me how to do it. This is my first tutorial. Hope it helps someone! FCPX sucks for a lot of reasons, but I'm finding it also has some really cool features too! This was a lot easier in FCP7, as you don't have to use masks, but oh well, here we are with FCPX.
Optical Flow Test - FCPX
Here we take on the challenge of slowing something down in post. Easy peasy, right? Okay, not really. First of all, this is a worst case scenario considering the fact that the Nikon D7000 only is capable of recording 30 FPS. Also, the FCPX Optical Flow thingee didn't work the way I wanted. Here's a few tips though, if you want to record slow motion: • High shutter speed (over 1/1000) • High FPS (at least 60) • If you have the option to change from PAL to NTSC, do so. This will (depending on your camera) give the option to change from either 25 to 30 FPS or from 50 to 60 FPS. • Use good lighting. This is even more important when you're recording rain or water. • Some mobile phones have the ability to record in slow motion, sometimes even more than 60 FPS. The quality will not be very good, but this is a good way to experiment.
