Fences summarizes Mansfield's music in succinct, compelling fashion—no simple feat, considering that his sound doesn't fit neatly in any single box. He speaks with audible affection of '80s innovators like the Cure, Kate Bush, and Morrissey, icons who created a consummate, all-encompassing aesthetic, just as he aspires to do with Fences. A close listen to the rhythm tracks on several cuts also underscores Mansfield's love of down-tempo classic country. An anthology of Johnny Cash's Sun Records sides was one of his constant soundtracks while working as a dishwasher. "The tempo of that material just has a unrelenting drive," he reflects. "It carries the lyrics from start to finish before you even realize what has been said." Further enriching his sound, Mansfield also has a powerful affinity for jazz, citing John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Wayne Shorter among his favorites. "Sometimes that music is just so chaotic, which is what growing up feels like," he observes. "I always wondered why more confused teenagers didn't listen to jazz. Also, yes, if you are in the air when the electricity goes through, you don't get a shock. You don't get shocked if the circuit (box to fence to person to ground to box) doesn't complete. On top of that, the end where he ALMOST shakes Hammond's hand, he doesn't. After getting this bit of video, she showed me another pallet fence that wasn't doing so well - it used a zigzag design - but apparently could not stand up well to the animals. And then there were designs with steel fence posts that weren't doing well either. But this design, the one in the video, help up especially well. Goats and pigs are both known to be extra hard on fence. And this fence has held in both goats and pigs. And she is in the same county as Seattle. So this fence is tolerating a lot of wet rot! Watch This Video before Building a Wood Fence
homerepair.gregvan.com One of the biggest problems with a wood fence are the wood posts that start to decay, or get hit by a large colony of termites. One time I put a new fence post in, only to find out that my idea didn't work. Actually it was an idea that I read about in one of my favorite homebuilding magazines. The magazine article suggested that you paint the bottom of your wood post with a roofing tar and then install the wood post, to enjoying many years of a maintenance free fence. Instead of using a roofing tar, I painted the bottom of the wood post fence with an elastomeric paint in the wood post rotted within one year and needed to be replaced. I've tried putting gravel at the bottom of the fence posts, leaving the wood exposed at the bottom and quite a few different things and I'm here to report that I haven't came up with any improvements or tips that I could share with anyone that really worked good. Barking Episode 5- Barking at Dogs Behind Fences
This is a continuation of the video "Barking Episode 3- barking on a walk". Please watch that video first to work on the foundation exercises. Also watch my videos on loose leash walking as a tight leash can cause a dog to be more aroused and reactive on walks. Step One- Click and feed your dog as he alerts towards the gate he usually barks at BEFORE he barks, and then walk the other way. Repeat this step until he is no longer alerting. You can also feed your dog for looking, instead of clicking. However, if you do this and your dog turns around to look at the food, don't give it to him. You want the other dog to be the predictor of reinforcement, NOT your hand movement! Step Two- Walk closer to the gate or window that the reactive dog usually appears at and either feed the dog AS they are looking, or click the dog and feed. Then walk away. Step Three- Pass the house in an arc. Walk your dog across the street so that he is as far away from the barking dog as possible as you both cross. As the dog begins to look confident and relaxed you can walk the dog in a closer arc. Keep in mind to not walk TOO close to the other dog, as you don't want to cause it any undue stress! If your dog becomes reactive, simply say "lets go" and go the other way (with NO TREAT). Practice the cue "lets go" before using it with distractions. If your dog keeps reacting make it easier for your dog, walk up to where he is comfortable, click and then turn back the way you came. Step Four- When you <b>...</b>
