The Fixx - Red Skies (Original 1982 Version)

The original 1982 version of the video for "Red Skies" by The Fixx from their first CD "Shuttered Room". The video aired for 11 weeks on MTV ultimately reaching heavy rotation. The single peaked at #101 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (bubbling under).
The Fixx- Camphor

Favorite Fixx song no longer in print A feeling like camphor rushing through my tubes A cooling draught, a rare interlude Drowning depression to admire and trust Who can watch a man making dust to dust? One legal dose of environment The ballad of a playground swing There's a lonely dog so misunderstood He's left his chores to become someone's friend Things are so enchanting High on life Then once again the flash of pines Beck to this breathtaking view Where the peaks are so high full of encouragement And the paints of the gods colour code Things are so enchanting High on life Things are where they can't be high on life So I'm thinking about my favourite dream An adventure not out of bounds It dries my eyes to know mother earth hears I'm invisible to blue hounds It pleases me to have a mind on the run When the body is fixed tied in shoes What expression is left to fulfil the gap Just a nod will suffice where you are? Things are so enchanting high on life
One Thing Leads To Another -The Fixx 1983

The Fixx are an English New Wave band. They are one of the few such bands to have enjoyed significant success outside their country of origin (in their case, notably in the United States and Canada) while remaining almost unknown in their home land. The band is best known for their song "One Thing Leads to Another", from their most successful album Reach the Beach in 1983. Their other hits include "Red Skies", "Stand or Fall", "Saved by Zero", "Sign of Fire", "Are We Ourselves?", "Secret Separation", "Driven Out", "How Much Is Enough?" and "Deeper and Deeper", which was featured on the soundtrack of Streets of Fire. "A Letter to Both Sides" appears on the Fletch soundtrack. Barret left The Fixx just after the recording of their first album, Shuttered Room, in 1982. This album featured the band's initial hits, "Stand or Fall" and "Red Skies", both of which charted in the US and the UK, albeit outside of the top 50. (They would be the band's only charting singles ever in the UK.) The band found particular success in Canada, where "Stand or Fall" was a top 10 hit. Barret was replaced on bass by Alfie Agius for the Shuttered Room tour. Agius' stay in the band was short-lived, though, as he left during the 1983 recording of their next album Reach the Beach, after having recorded three tracks. Agius is credited as co-writer on all the album's tracks, but the group for this album was officially credited as a quartet (Curnin, Greenall, West-Oram and Woods). Reach the Beach became <b>...</b>

The Fixx - How Much Is Enough?

"How Much Is Enough?" was the first single released off the sixth studio CD "Ink" by The Fixx. The song peaked at #35 on the US Billboard Hot 100 on 5/11/91. It also peaked at #10 on the Modern Rock Chart on 3/09/91 and at #11 on the Mainstream Rock Chart on 3/16/91. This video spent 12 weeks on MTV peaking in 'Active' rotation. It was the sixth and last top 40 hit by the band. After their CD "Ink", the band took a hiatus but reformed in the late nineties. The original members are still together today touring and recording. Check out TheFixx.com and TheFixx.net for details.

The Fixx - Deeper and Deeper (Longer version)

The song is the longer version of "Deeper and Deeper" by The Fixx. The video is some Aeon Flux anime from the 90's put together by some unknown poster that I found on some other clip site. The song was on the "Streets of Fire" soundtrack from 1984 but they inexplicably denied it a release as a single, despite it hitting #3 on the rock chart and #47 on the dance chart. No video was ever made for it either. This longer version would eventually end up on the B-side of their 1984 "Are We Ourselves?" single. This long version can now also be found on the rerelease of their sophomore album "Reach the Beach". The original lineup of the band are still together and still touring and recording in the US Check out thefixx dot com

The Fixx - Fatal Shore

This song was originally written for the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies". But when it was not selected for the film, the band revised it slightly and retitled it "Fatal Shore". It ended up on their 1998 CD "Elemental" and has become a staple of their live shows and a big fan favorite. Check out TheFixx dot com for tour dates and more info. I found this song/animation combo on a Japanese clip site. If you know of the original animation source let me know so I can credit them.

The Fixx - The Sign of Fire

Following "Stand or Fall", "Red Skies", "Saved By Zero" and "One Thing Leads To Another", this was the next hit by The Fixx. The song peaked at #32 on the US pop chart on 1/14/84 and at #20 a week later on the US rock chart. It is from the platinum-selling album "Reach the Beach".
The Fixx- One Thing Leads to Another

1983- Lyrics Below: The deception with tact Just what are you trying to say You've got a blank face, which irritates Communicate, pull out your party piece You see dimensions in two State your case with black or white But when one little cross Leads to shots, grit your teeth You run for cover so discreet Why don't they Do what they say, say what you mean Oh well, one thing leads to another You told me something wrong I know I listen too long But then one thing leads to another The impression that you sell Passes in and out like a scent But the long face that you see Comes from living close to your fears If this is up, then I'm up But you're running out of sight You've seen your name on the walls And when one little bump Leads to shock miss a beat You run for cover and there's heat Why don't they Do what they say, say what they mean One thing leads to another You told me something wrong I know I listen too long But then one thing leads to another Yeah, yeah, yeah One thing leads to another Then it's easy to believe Somebody's been lying to me But when the wrong word goes in the right ear I know you've been lying to me It's getting rough, off the cuff I've got to say enough's enough Bigger the harder he falls But when the wrong antidote Is like a bulge on the throat You run for cover in the heat Why don't they Do what they say, say what they mean One thing leads to another You told me something wrong I know I listen too long But then one thing leads to another Yeah, yeah <b>...</b>

The Fixx - Some People

This is actually the first video ever made by The Fixx. This first video from their first album "Shuttered Room" was made in 1981 and directed by Jeannette Obstoj and Rupert Hine. It would be followed by two more videos from that album, "Stand Or Fall" and "Red Skies". The Fixx are still together and continue to tour and record. Check out TheFixx.com for more info.

The Fixx - We Once Held Hands (Extended Version #2)

"We Once Held Hands" is a song written and performed by The Fixx about how the mining of natural resources such as salt and oil throughout history has resulted in political and cultural conflicts and ultimately divided the world. The video footage is from Werner Herzog's documentary "Lessons of Darkness" and features noted locations from Operation Desert Storm in Kuwait, including the "highway of death", bombed out targets and numerous raging oil well fires. The first version of this song was recorded during the "Happy Landings" sessions in 1996 which ended up on an unreleased 5 song EP. Two years later, a 3:56 length version appears on the band's 7th studio CD "Elemental". An 8:25 length extended version also exists but the version in this video is 7:48 long and appears on the 2001 CD "Happy Landings and Lost Tracks" which includes some alternate takes of songs on "Elemental". The five members of the band from their heyday are still together, touring and recording with a new CD out in 2010. Check out thefixx.com or thefixx.net for more information. Lyrics: Salt, deep in the earth Salt, has it's worth Salt, three kings, a birth Sweet earth! What's it worth? Mine, well it's all for me Mine, I'll dig it for free With slavery, wait and see We once held hands This common land We once held hands We had no plans. Oil, the blood that spoils Oil, the hand that toils Oil, the gun that recoils wheres the oil? Mine, well it's all for me Mine, I'll pump it free Mine, with slavery <b>...</b>
