Before starting the yoga practice, if we feel a little bit hungry, a small piece of dark chocolate or a handful of dried nuts and fruit would help, as it is best not to consume a large meal within 2 to 3 hours prior to the practice. 1. Start with 6 rounds of Sun Salutation to warm up. 2. From Child Pose slowly come up to Headstand. 3. When balance is established, arch the back and bring legs over behind the head. 4. Drop the feet on the floor, breathe deeply Headstand has many benefits, it tones up the whole body, improves circulation and concentration of the mind, also it is a good preparation for meditation practice. Backbend strengthens the abdominal and lower back muscles and make the spine suppler. Stretching: Increase your Flexibility, Turnout, and Pliés!

Disclaimer: Do not push yourself too hard. Stretching should feel uncomfortable, but it should not hurt. I am not a professional, so stretch with caution. These are the stretches that my ballet teacher has recommended to me, so if you are someone who thinks that you can't increase your turnout through stretching or your just a snob, go away. Also, I know my splits sucked in this video. I wasn't warm and didn't hold each stretch for more than 5 seconds. I really am super close though!!! :)

Working on my flexibility and dance skills to get back to dance

Hi, my name's Zaylie. I have been really ill for the past three years with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). During this time I haven't been able to dance, or do much else for that matter. I'm finally getting better so I thought I'd start working on some skills to get back to dance. I'm going to be uploading videos of my progress, mainly just so that I can see for myself that I'm actually recovering from ME and that my stamina is improving.
