THIS HURTS! What hurts...: I have a pain in lower, deep buttocks which makes it painful to sit. It feels similar to prostate pain but, my urologist has ruled out any prostate pathology. I also have tingling sensations in my thighs and tightness in my lower back. Occasionally, I will get a mild swelling in the pubic area too, when the pain and discomfort is at its worst. My family physician ruled out a hernia. How you hurt it...: This has been going on, off and on for about six - eight months. I haven\'t really had a trauma or injury. However, I suspect this is related to over training (high mileage running and strength training) and an anterior pelvic tilt. When you hurt it...: This has been going on, off and on for about six - eight months. Your pain level (1 is low, 10 is high pain): Pain and tingling sensation comes and goes. Often times the pain makes it very difficult to sit. On most days it would be unbearable to sit for longer than about 30 minutes, especially if I am in a low seated position such as in a car. Your age and overall health...: 44 years of age in good health. I have been very active in distance running and strength training for most of my life. About six months ago I experienced "full blown" over training syndrome. I ceased training for a few months and recently started back with a very modest walking and strength training routine. The pain and low back discomfort did not subside when I was not training. Any other information you feel is relevant ...
