Apple iMac 27" Screen Flicker/Distortion Issue
Have had the machine less than one week and out of the box it does this on random occasions. I am trying to pinpoint when it happens. Nobody seems to know if its a software or hardware issue yet.

Tony Conrad - The Flicker 'The Flicker' is a structural film by Tony Conrad. This motion picture is next to the pure physical presence of the film itself, because it features the isolation of the light through the film projection. The alternating of light and darkness is one of the basics of Cinema grammar, but here the pulsation of white and black frames becomes the form itself of the film. In scientific terms the film illustrates the overtones relationship visuals: there's a way to apply the rules of overtones musical series to light and that is to vary the intensity of light in relation of the passing time. The result is a pattern of 47 different metric clusters based on standard gamut of 24fps. The film patterns are structured to accelerate and then decelerate the density of flickering. The creation of a (ex)static atmosphere erases any reference and the composition is interweaved only by no-images of light and black, pulsating around 8-16 cycles per second (the neurological 'alfa-rhythms' rating). A sort of 'neuro-film'. Describing the technique and the metaphysics of 'The Flicker', Conrad said: "The rate of perception of strobo light flickering is about a frequency of 70 flashes per second (40fps); above of this one the light is seen as a 'continuum'. Under 4fps the effect is that of a light turning on and off. But in the rate from 6 to 18 fps, weird things are going to happen. Samsung 226bw Monitor Repair and Info Guide Blinking Flickering No Picture Samsung 226bw monitors have a bad flaw, they used CapXon as their vendor for capacitors, most of these capacitors are made to lower specifications and lasts only about 2000 hours or 3 years of regular useage and the warranty is exactly 3 years. If you have the tools you only need about 3 capacitors which are only a few cents and you can easily fix this yourself with ease. Usually it is always the same 3 i believe C110-113 which are the 2X (820uf / 25v) and 1X (330uf / 25v) You will need your own solder iron, fresh rosin core solder, and a butterknife. The soldersucker doesnt do so well since the ammount of solder they use is quite small. This is my first Vid and sorry about no autofocus on the flip ultra, my next videos will use a better video capture device.

Samsung DLP HDTV Problem - Flickering screen after about 30 minutes
Bought this Samsung DLP HDTV about a year ago, and I am already having an issue. After about 30 minutes of normal viewing and good picture quality, it starts flickering like in this video and I can hear a slight humming/ticking from the back of the TV. The bulb is very bright and solid (looking at it from the back of the TV), and even during the screen flickering, it does not flicker at all or go dim. The tiny fan that appears to keep the circuit board cool looks to be running fine. Anyone know what is wrong? Is it the color wheel? The ballast? Something else? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Once I resolve the issue, I'll post what was wrong for others with a similar issue. CNET Forum seeking advice: forums.cnet.com UPDATE: The repair guy just came. He replaced the DLP chip and the DMD board. It appears to have done the trick thusfar.. Not sure the cause of the problem; although he did advise me to make sure I update the firmware everyone once in a while by going to samsung.com and downloading it to a USB drive, then going to SW update in the tv menu... Hopefully everything is good to go now.... UPDATE: Actually, I just found out yesterday that the TV is not fixed. Replacing the board and chip did not fix it. The repairman must now come back, pick up the TV, and take it to his shop to test it. He says it is a very strange case and he is not sure what is wrong. Will post back on the YouTube video page once I find out what it is.... UPDATE: It appears the problem was the <b>...</b>
