This is some of the best footage I have seen of the Flood and was taken from the second floor of our office which backs onto Chalk Lane. It shows just how fast the creek turned into a torrent and quickly flooded Chalk Drive and Chalk Lane. It is amazingly beautiful because of its deep green/blue colour and the surrounding alpine scenery. The lake itself dries up in autumn but fills up with melting water. The water itself of the lake is extremely pure, like glass. The colour is a result of light refraction. So the visibility could be much better, i´ve missed the „crystal clear water. You have to know the Green Lake is famous for its clear water. Flash flooding impacted Picton on the 10th of February 2012. Several shops were flooded and the main street of town was closed. Local roads suffered damage due to flood water, a causeway collapsed and many homes were affected by flood waters. It all happened within the space of an hour. Pumping out the water was made possible due to the water coming from run off, rather than the creek level rising. We were able to remove the water from the streets and shops and pump into the creek, until the storm water drains were cleared. Fire and Rescue NSW attended with RP421, P248, P93, P87 and the Duty Commander. Apologies for the shaky cam - it wasn't attached to anything, didn't plan on having it with me.

To lower or increase the fluid level in the pipe is achieved by simply turning the collar which contains the dam.

The pictures that are displayed here are of the flood presently going on in Ayutthaya Thailand. Most of the central city area is nearly underwater and power has been disconnected in the area due to a few deaths that occurred from electrocution. Many of the residence that have not evacuated are getting around by boat or raft, and basically anything they can get their hands on. Many of the ancient temples around Ayutthaya city are also nearly underwater. This part begins with the food distribution, medical aid station and refugee center near the main highway connecting the city. Then it proceeds to the center of the flooded city via boat.

This was one of the craziest days for San Pedro. Major arteries were closed as rivers of mud slid through the San Pedro and Palos Verdes Area.
