The very rare sight of seven full-size WW1 Fokker Dr.1 Triplanes replicas in the air together. Each of these aircraft is painted to represent one of the aircraft/pilots that flew as part of Manfred von Richthofen's Jasta 11 in April 1918. Fokker 100 (PH-OFE) lifted onto Panorama terrace @ Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.mov
On 31th May 2011 a retired KLM-Cityhopper Fokker 100 (PH-OFE) was lifted onto the Panorama Terrace @ Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This aircraft made it's 1st flight on 2nd March 1989 and it's last on 19th February 2011 and was donated by KLM to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Visitors of the Panorama Terrace can have a look inside the airplane (with audio from Air Traffic Control) as well as take a look inside the cargo holds.

Fokker's synchronizer
This initiated a concentrated phase of consideration of the interrupter gear concept. The Dutch aircraft designer Anthony Fokker was heavily involved in this process but the story of his conception, development and installation of a synchronisation device in a period of 48 hours (first found in an authorised biography of Fokker written in 1929) has been shown to be not factual. The available evidence points to a synchronisation device having been in development by Fokker's team including engineer Heinrich Lübbe, and probably based on Schneider's patent, for perhaps six months prior to the capture of Garros' machine. In 1916 LVG and Schneider sued Fokker for patent infringement — the battle continued until 1933 and though the courts repeatedly found in Schneider's favour, Fokker refused to acknowledge the rulings, all the way to the time of the Third Reich in 1933. The only known date that is certain in the development of Fokker's pioneering Stangensteuerung system is on May 16, 1915, when an officer of the Bavarian armed forces, working with Idflieg, alerted his province of Germany that "firing trials of a interesting nature, from a light monoplane, were to take place on the 19th of 20th of May". The trials were meant to take place at the famous Döberitz proving ground near Berlin, but no record of any sort remains to definitively state what happened there. Fokker's team adapted their system to work with the new Parabellum MG14 machine gun fitted to a Fokker A.III unarmed <b>...</b>

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Bangladesh. Its main hub is at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, and also operates flights from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, earning revenue from the connecting service to Osmani International Airport in Sylhet. Biman provides international passenger and cargo service to Asia and Europe, as well as major domestic routes. It has air service agreements with 42 countries, but only flies to 16. The airline was wholly owned and managed by the Government of Bangladesh until 23 July 2007, when it was transformed into the country's largest public limited company by the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh.The airline's headquarters, Balaka Bhaban, is located in Kurmitola, Dhaka. Created in February 1972, Biman enjoyed an internal monopoly in the Bangladesh aviation industry until 1996. In the decades following its founding, the airline expanded its fleet and destinations, but it was adversely affected by corruption and mishaps. At its peak, Biman operated flights to 29 international destinations as far away as New York City to the west and Tokyo to the east. Old Kingsbury Aerodrome Fokker Dr.1 Triplane Engine Run (HD)
This is a video highlighting the engine run of a Fokker Dr.1 Triplane during the 2009 Old Kingsbury Aerodrome Spring (postponed to June 20th) Air Fair. Unfortunately, the winds were such that they were unable to fly the Triplane, but they did display the engine to the very pleased crowd. The Pioneer of Flight Museum's Dr.1 is a perfectly accurate replicate of a standard WWI Fokker Dr.1. Their Dr.1 has an original, restored, 1919 Le Rhone rotary engine producing 80hp. It was a real treat to see such an old engine come to life!
