When you watch this music video you can see where I worked on the oil rig and road my bike on Santa Monica pier all the time. Wonderful times were spent in Malibu, as well. I use to play at the Malibu Inn and spend much time with my dogs on the beaches and canyons. We shot the performance at SIR in Nashville, with Slim Stephenson (bass), Mike Pachelli (acoustic guitar), Carrie Glenn (Hammond B3) and Joe Dorn (drums). This song is from my new album "Life's An Illusion." I was inspired by the southern California theme where I lived for over 20 years. I directed and edited this music video. Shot with Canon 5Dmkii and Canon T2i, as well as, minimal 35mm film from my Arri IIC. Lens used included Zeiss Compact Primes CP2 and Canon L Series lenses. Amy Lynn Larwig (makeup artist). Jared Ruso (camera operator), Brett Pausina (camera operator) for stage shots. I shot the other footage, with the exception of a few clips of stock footage. The actress is Cristal Cox. Surfing, southern California and the Santa Monica Pier are predominant in the narrative of this video. I found myself missing California while making this video. Turn! is the second album by the folk rock band The Byrds and was released in December 1965 on Columbia Records (see 1965 in music).[1] Like its predecessor, Mr. Tambourine Man, the album epitomized the folk rock genre and continued the band's successful mix of vocal harmony and jangly twelve-string Rickenbacker guitar.[2] The album's lead single and title track, "Turn! Turn! The band Veszelka Kommandó has been formed by ex-musicians of Narco Polo, a band established in 1995. The singer of Veszelka Kommandó, Flóra Herczeg gained nationwide popularity in 2008, as the performer of one of the leading roles (Réka) in the 25th anniversary remake of the rock opera Stephen the King. The classical rock formation is combined with percussions such as derbuka, djembe, kettle-drum, timbales, ütőgardon), violin, viola, shepherds pipe, clarinet and bagpipe; spreading their message on the wings of world music, uniquely using the language of rock, pop, reggae or ska. Progressive Folk-Rock from Sweden. From the Album: Kebnekaise II (1973) Biography: Lacking the lasting fame and the cult status of their contemporaries Träd, Gräs & Stenar, the mainly instrumental group Kebnekaise was just as important in creating Swedish folk-rock. In the Swedish progressive movement they stood somewhere in the middle, between the politically and the musically progressive branches, where the first mainly played message-based music and the second had more in common with international progressive rock scene. The band did not take a clear political stand, but being less experimental than Träd, Gräs & Stenar and staying further away from fusion than Samla Mammas Manna, they reached a wide audience. At the end of the '70s, Kebnekaise started to play symphonic rock, and quickly lost much of their popularity. The driving force in Kebnekaise was guitarist Kenny Håkansson. In the '60s, he and drummer Pelle Ekman played together in T-Bones and in a band that later changed its name to Baby Grand Mother. In 1969, Håkansson, Ekman, and bassist Bengt Linnarsson were recruited as the new backing for Hammond player Mecki Mark, becoming his Mecki Mark Men. In 1971, after a chaotic US tour together with Sly and the Family Stone, Mark left and guitarist Rolf Scherrer was recruited. The new band took the name Kebnekaise after the highest mountain in Sweden, and started out as a mainly instrumental rock band in the tradition of Hendrix and Cream, releasing the debut album <b>...</b>

One of my favorite Folk Rocks songs from the 1970s, by Folk Rock star Jackson Browne, "Rock Me on the Water". I love the theme behind it, that there's not enough people doing things themselves and instead, they just have other people do it for them. This theme is universal especially in todays society because we are becoming too dependent on machinery and such to do things for us, and there aren't enough people who know the value of a hard day's work. Al Stewart (born Alastair Ian Stewart, 5 September 1945) is a Scottish[singer-songwriter and folk-rock musician. Stewart came to stardom as part of the British folk revival in the '60s and '70s, and developed his own unique style of combining folk-rock songs with delicately woven tales of the great characters and events from history. He is best known for his hit 1976 single "Year of the Cat" from the platinum album Year of the Cat. Though Year of the Cat and its 1978 platinum follow-up Time Passages brought Stewart his biggest worldwide commercial successes, earlier albums such as Past, Present and Future from 1973 are often seen as better examples of his intimate brand of historical folk-rock - a style to which he has returned in recent albums. Stewart was a key figure in a fertile era in British music and he appears throughout the musical folklore of the age. He played at the first ever Glastonbury Festival in 1970, knew Yoko Ono pre-Lennon, shared a London apartment with a young Paul Simon, and hosted at the legendary Les Cousins folk club in London in the 1960s.
