Fonera SIMPL at Mobile World Congress 2010
FON is creating an open WiFi roaming network to cover the whole planet. At Mobile World Congress they are showing the new Fonera Simple router that will be given by 3G carriers to consumers and upgrade the software functionality of smart phones to be able to carry some of the heavy video playback over WiFi networks rather than using up all the 3G bandwidth for that type of activity.

Atropos: Fonera Quadrocopter
This is a home made Quadrocopter using a Fonera 2201 wifi router. Sensor are wii motion+ and wii nunckuck connected to GPIO fonera pins. A Second-Order Complementary Filter(inspired by RoyLB) and PID control tries to keep aircraft stable. Still need a lot of Pid tunning
FrancoFON's software for la Fonera
In this video, Guillaume Valet of FrancoFON, a very well organized community of French foneros, shows me how the software they developed for la Fonera works. Basically, the software allows la Fonera to create a bridge by which it can turn any encrypted WiFi signal into a FON WiFi signal. We will test this software thoroughly and most likely incorporate it in the Fonera firmware. Thank you FrancoFon!!!
