Mega Man 7 - Freeze Man's Stage
It is time to put the freeze on my... terrible puns as those can get out of hand with a stage like this. Freeze Man's stage, despite being an ice stage, is one of the easiest stages in the game. There are very few enemies and the only real obstacle is the occasional death spikes. Ice physics do try to cause some trouble every now and then, though. Freeze Man himself is fairly interesting. He is another robot master that will not "activate" until you make your first move. Unlike the others, though, he will sit there and taunt you until you DO move. Fighting-wise, he follows a very, very set pattern. He will loop the exact same attacks in the exact same order over and over again. Using his weakness, Junk Shield, does not change this order... but it DOES completely ruin his pacing. This can actually make it HARDER to avoid damage, but with how quickly it wrecks Freeze Man, it is still worth it. Enjoy!~

Mega Man 7 (3): Freeze Man
"One Cool Customer" Freeze Man was chosen today (oy) with 13 votes. Junk Man had 7, Burst had 6, and Cloud finished up with 4. Be sure to make your choice known between Junk, Burst, and Cloud Man...otherwise I won't know where to go next! Freeze Man's stage is my traditional starting point, so this was a relatively easy stage to do. The most important thing to get when coming here is Rush Search. It will be used quite a bit in this game. I just don't get how you're supposed to know where some items are. Oh well. As for our boss, he's not too hard to beat, but he's annoying to no-hit because he can lull you to sleep with his pattern. When he decides not to stop and freeze the ceiling or floor and carry on, that's your best bet of getting hit in the stage...besides the very first enemy which has got me more times in the past than I'd care to say.

Mega Man 7 Kirby Challenge - Freeze Man
Please see segment/video 1 (Burst Man)'s description for an explanation of what this challenge is about, and what the rules/restrictions are. *** I don't know why it took Capcom seven games to realize a shield weapon might do better acting like an actual shield, but they kinda overdid it here. Junk Shield is, bar none, the most broken weapon in Mega Man 7, edging out Noise Crush. Ammo consumption is absolute shit, but in this case, it's only fair, since one round of Junk Shield can practically carry you through a stage on its own merits. Basically, the Junk Shield can take obscene amounts of damage before being destroyed, as long as you have the good sense not to plant all of it into anything with shot-blocking properties. The reason it can do this is the same reason it takes three units of energy per round; your shield is actually three distinct projectiles. It prevents any one enemy from absorbing anymore than the bare minimum of damage necessary to be destroyed, because each projectile passes through an enemy once in turn. With proper timing and placement, this means you can carry one shield a long way, slaughtering weak enemies with little more than a shave off of your shield's absorption-capacity. It also turns the Junk Shield into an absolutely deadly weapon from an offensive standpoint. Since regular enemies in Mega Man have no invincibility frames, letting an entire round of Junk Shield crash itself into one makes it feel every hit. Most large enemies take two <b>...</b>

Mega Man 7 Playthrough, Part 2: Freeze Man
Now we take on the first of the robot masters. And as it's nearly Christmas I feel it should be only fitting to go after the Snow/Ice themed robot master first. Freeze Man. This stage is a pretty nice one to start with. Not too threatening, decent amount of things to collect, plus this stage has some great music to it. Freeze Man himself has what I consider to be one of the best fights in the series, because it's hectic and intense with lots going on. It's also reasonably challenging with the mega buster. Enjoy. =)

Please read this: This is not a speedrun, but rather a playthrough, where I only play the level through. Freeze Man: Weak to: Junk Shield (Junk Man) You obtain: Freeze Cracker (Freeze Man) Password: Red: D7, G1, G4 Blue: C4, F3, H8 Password gives you: Danger Wrap (Burst Man) Thunder Strike (Cloud Man) Junk Shield (Junk Man) Freeze Cracker (Freeze Man) Rush Jet 'R', 'U' and 'H' letters Exit Here's a small list of what the passwords save and what they don't save. Passwords save: The RUSH letters, Beat, Blues' (Proto Man's) Shield, Energy Balancer, Super Adapter Arm Upgrade, Robot Master weapons/beaten Robot Masters. Passwords DON'T save: E-tanks, W-tanks, S-tanks, 1UPs, Blues (Proto Man) encounters 1 & 2 (unless Blues' Shield has been obtained). I usually do much worse in the boss fight, mostly because I mess up the timing and jump into his freezing moves.

Mega Man 7 100% #6 - Freeze Man
Now for Freeze Man's stage. The thing that's slightly annoying about it, are the bears shooting icicles at you. These can be avoided pretty easily, but it'll take a chunk of Buster shots to get rid of it. Now, the letter in Freeze Man's stage can be somewhat hard to get. You have to get on icy platforms, and they'll break if you stand on them for too long. The easy way to do this, is to use the Rush Jet, or Rush Coil and immediately jump towards the letter. The Exit item can be found before the boss door if you use Rush Search on the nearby ledge. Freeze Man himself is a bit of a tricky boss. Junk Shield is his weakness, so take advantage of it. Be sure not to stay too close to him, because he won't get hit by the Junk Shield if he's still in his invincibility frame. Once the floor is all ice, you want to keep jumping to prevent Mega Man's feet from getting stuck and not being able to move. After that, I go back to Junk Man's stage and get the last letter we need for the Super Adapter.

Freeze Man's partner is supposed to be Letty Whiterock but she isn't a fighting Touhou character. Anyway, EX-Cirno is. They will face Advent Cirno and Blizzard Wolfang as secret Tag matches soon. The winner of the match faces returning opponents who were defeated by Kurogane's Reimu and the Unfinished/Bug effect Blues. Victims of Blues & Reimu who are defeated in the 1st round but cannot beat them the second. Now I have Reimu SWR and updated Blues. Medicine & Plantman Burning Cirno & Burnerman Aya & Tenguman Ex-Marisa & X Cirno & Iceman Remilia & Shademan Suwako & Toadman All others are beaten fairly. Youmu & Slashman are not eligable for re-entering. Blues & Reimu corrected versions might re-enter. In the 2nd match, winner gets to move on with their pending opponents. NOTE: This is my final video, my computer's hard drive is REALLY bad so no more videos until further notice.
