Cornell West and other prominent leaders gathered a large group of activists from the Occupy Wall Street movement to conduct a march against NYPD's "Stop and Frisk" policy in Harlem, Oct. 21. The protesters engaged in civil disobedience in front of the 28th precinct and NYPD officers subsequently arrested Cornell West and many others.

Mr Frisk is one of my all time favourite horses, for the same reason as most in that he won the Grand National when I backed him! I'll always remember him as loving fast ground, and of jumping for fun out in front as he did here. The Whitbread win after this was just as memorable, if not more so, in that I was there to roar him on :)

Stop and Frisk protesters arrested in Harlem.
Protesters marched in Harlem against NYPD's stop and frisk program that has stopped close to 700000 people this year alone. NYPD arrested some of the protesters which refused to be silenced in this police practice which for the most part targets Blacks, Latinos and the poor. The protesters where from all races and symbolized the unity of the human race in the face of tyranny and oppression, something the corrupt members of NYPD hate to see as they like the population divided so they can step in as the saviors and make arrest and write summons. NYPD has been exposed for the criminal organization that it is which targets citizens and even their own officers by forcing them to harass the very people they are sworn to protect and serve. It is my hope and wish that a full Federal investigation is lunched and the top brass along with Raymond Kelly are brought to justice for crimes against hundreds of thousands of innocent New Yorkers.

Cop exposes NYPD Quota System
NYPD cop Adil Polanco states that the 41st precinct in New York pressures cops to write at least 20 summons and make 1 arrest each month. If they do not reach this goal they are deprived of overtime, days off and shift of choice. This results in the cops that are not racist to harass innocent minorities that live in the neighborhood. They stop people at random to search for an excuse to write tickets and make arrest. We have for many years suspected that police had a quota system but have never had solid proof until now. Jail cells are packed with blacks and Latinos because police are threatened with becoming pizza delivery men if they do not arrest and ticket people who have broken no laws. Officer Polanco states that the police are not here to assist us, their prime directive is to bring back the numbers to meet there quotas. In my opinion this is an act of terrorism on the part of the NYPD because it is just that...pure terror as people are becoming scared to leave their homes out of fear of being ticketed or arrested as I myself once was. They patrol the streets night and day targeting innocent people..especially young minorities. This early introduction to the criminal system starts a course that often leads to a permanent life of crime due to the mental trauma being arrested has on a person...you hate the police after an experience like that.
