In late summer of 1993 the Wisconsin Central took over the Fox River Valley Railroad and the Green Bay and Western. When I got up there 5 days later the Alcos were already stored. But I Taped some of operations there anyway. As mad as I was about the missing the alcos in service looking back I'm glad I taped what I could up there. we start off at the former FRVR yard at the Broadway crossing site of the former Broadway tower where the Former GB&W once crossed the former CNW (FRVR) We watch a GP-40 form the WC at work then later see a CNW freight on the former FRVR at De Pere WI. Then return to the yard at Broadway for more switching action. almost overnite the WC restenciled all of the former RR's engines we see alot of former CNW equipment at work.

In Part 2 we continue to watch the former GP-7's and GP-9's at work on the east end of the yard. I was so mad this day about missing out on the GB&W alcos I almost went back home. But as I was editing this stuff I realized how lucky I was to catch what I did as most of what I filmed is gone. We see a bunch of yard work in this sequence. The WC stored alot of this power not long after the merger.

In Part 3 we watch a WC SW-1200 pull a cut of cars from the neighboring former GB&W Mac Donald Yard over to the former FRVR yard via the interchange connection. In days past this might have been done by an RS-3 or RS-11. Needless to say I was not happy with what I saw. then again 17 years later....... :)

In part 4 we see more swiching action at the former FRVR yard then we catch a local and a CNw freaight lead by WC power at De Pere, WI, Later were on the former GB&W branchline in the warehouse district as WC 1236 goes to work.

Here we follow the WC 1236 as it works in Green Bays warehouse district on the former GB&W. Days earlier a GB&W Alco RS-3 would have been working here.

In Part 6 we see some more of what the former FRV had to offer as we see a pair of Ex-CNW GP-35's being fueled by the old roundhouse. Then we catch some more switching and see an inbound freight arrive with a GP-35, GP-7 and an SD-24 on it, one of two the former FRV owned. We then see some varied activity in the yard.

One of the more interesting regional railroads of the time,they had some interesting power.Just like the 1976 Mustang Ghia in the shot,nothing special but functional.

In the final chapter we follow an eastbound WC coal train as it departs the yard in Green Bay and passes Broadway tower, we then catch the train at the crossing at Tavil. and then watch as it passes through De Pere Wi. The Wisconsin Central is clearly in charge by this time. As the train rounded the curve I wondered what else might change. Today the WC is now part of CN, I have not been back to Green Bay since 1993
