We've finally managed to get some time with Fujitsu's incoming quad-core handset and it's pretty close to completion. The quad-core phone's approaching its very final model, with just a bit of finishing and tightening of what we're seeing here at MWC 2012. It's still water-friendly, wielding a Tegra 3 chip and brandishing a 13.1-megapixel camera. So what are you waiting for? Our impressions and video are right after the break. The hardware is very light -- almost uneasily so. The 4.6-inch display that dominates the phone is bright and crisp and Fujitsu has finally cemented more of the specifications; we've been told it's a full HD (1080p) display, although the spokesperson was unable to confirm the screen technology, we suspect it's a high resolution LCD display. Fujitsu's NX UI is a very lightly skinned version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich, with some addition features courtesy of the "human-centric engine." In a bid to differentiate itself from legions of other smartphone manufacturers, it adds Fujitsu's own type of voice canceling processing, alongside dual mics, while a "slow voice" mode adds spacing in the gaps between speech. Fujitsu tegra 3 smartphone www.netbooknews.com Fujitsu showed off a prototype smartphone running nVidia's Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. It's going to be interesting seeing this processor pop up in handset since its got a "shadowcore," a low-power fifth core that's designed to conserve battery life for undemanding tasks. Specifications aren't final but so far we know that it's packing an LTE modem, runs Android 4.0 on a 4.6-inch "HD" display (no word on resolution) and has a 13.1 megapixel camera that'll shoot down to an ISO of 25600 'round back. We'll find out at MWC is this phone is going to keep those high end specifications. We got to see and play Riptide GP (below) on the device using a Logitech wireless controller that was showing off the graphics performance of the Arrows. We have to admit, we were impressed gameplay was smooth, responsive and didn't look like crap when it was spanned onto a HDTV. So far it's expected to carry HDMI-out and DNLA as standard, but the company couldn't confirm if there would be any deeper integration with its computer or peripheral offerings.

The Arrows Tab F-01D features a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280x800) display, TI OMAP 4430 1Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 5.1 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 6560mAh battery, waterproof coating, 4G LTE connectivity, and it runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The NTT Docomo Arrows μ F-01D (also known as the Arrows ES for another carrier) is the CURRENT world's thinnest smartphone at 6.7mm. It easily beats out the Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung Galaxy S II, the previous title holders. However, Huawei will take over that title when they launch the Ascend P1 S, which is 6.68mm, later in 2012. The Arrows handset features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass, Qualcomm MSM8255 1.4GHz single-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 2GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 32GB, 5 megapixel rear camera, and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It was only a few short months ago that Fujitsu's F-07D cropped up at the FCC and took a swing at the "world's thinnest" smartphone title. Since that time, the handset's taken on a new name -- the Arrows μ -- and has launched on NTT DoCoMo in Japan. Today at CES Unveiled, we got a chance to get up close and personal with the device which, despite hitting a high water mark for slim profile, doesn't exactly attempt to compete with high-end specs. Instead this Android 4-incher runs Gingerbread atop a single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and is complemented by 1GB of RAM, 5.1MP rear camera and 1400mAh battery. So, does it hold up to its slight reputation? Join us after the break as we answer that question and delve deep into our first impressions. It's hard to appreciate the Arrows μ's sleek figure which, at only 6.7mm, should be the highlight of the design, but is unfortunately glossed over by the dullness of its piano black, plastic casing. Indeed, the phone doesn't garner any exceptional points for looks, erring instead on a tried and true rectangular shape (think: Motorola Droid RAZR). In keeping with its mobile family tree, this Arrows device is waterproof and sports a Gorilla Glass coating. Despite its lackluster presence, however, the Mu does feel great in the hand, as it weighs a mere 105 grams and shouldn't be a bother to hold for extended periods.
