On May 21, 2011, storm chaser/photographer Chad Cowan documented this extremely photogenic supercell in northeast Kansas. In the first part of the video, the wall cloud and funnel(s) were directly over downtown Topeka, and it appeared that Topeka was about to take a direct hit. Luckily, the storm did not produce a tornado until it was northeast of town. After the sun set, Chad dropped south and documented a storm that had developed near Emporia, which produced an EF-3 tornado in the town of Reading where it destroyed over 20 houses. The final shot in this video is of that storm approaching and blacking out the horizon. Shot with the Canon 5D Mark II and 17-40 f/4L wide angle lens.

A weak tornado touched down in the town of Hoven, SD. The debris cloud is hard to see on the video but the tornado did do some damage by tearing a roof off a business and knocking over several large trees. Other funnel clouds were also observed.

Funnel cloud spotted near Brentwood in Contra Costa County around 1:30pm on Saturday 1/23/2010. A tornado warning was issued from 1:15-2:08pm for an intense severe thunderstorm dropping heavy hail on Hwy 4 and showed some signs of rotation. Two funnel clouds were spotted at nearly the same time. Storm cell weakened rather quickly by 2:15pm, ending the threat for severe weather. Video clip courtesy: Brittany Ticer & the Thomas Family. Brittany Ticer told NBC Bay Area the funnel seen in this video lasted about 1-2 minutes before weakening. Some reports had possibly two funnel clouds in the sky around the time the cell moved towards Discovery Bay before weakening.

Rotating thunderstorm on convergence zone which dropped a nice funnel cloud to the east of Maghera, N. Ireland on June 7th 2011. This was viewed from the carriageway leading to Glenshane Pass. The camera is on wideangle so everything looks smaller and further away than it actually was. Funnel was spectacular to watch with rapid rotation and vortices twisting around one another inside the main funnel. The updraught base of the cell itself was also rotating like crazy prior to funnel formation, the storm produced several hours of blue cg lightning,loud thunder, intense hail and flooding on the roads. www.Nightskyhunter.com

www.youtube.com I was at work this morning and a small storm out over the ocean produced this small funnel cloud, I am really not sure if it was a true water spout. I was not close enough to tell for sure but I don't think it did. Water spouts are a common occurrence in South Florida and will usually die out before becoming tornados over land. I thought it was pretty cool and you guys would like to see one. So, I took out the iPhone and caught it. There were 2 more that formed from this storm but I did not capture them on film. This storm produced multiple tornadoes, but bad timing was on my side during this storm. I seemed to be out of sync with the storm. Everytime I was driving, a tornado would spawn, whenever I stepped out to film, they would discipate. This is one of the aggrivations of storm chasing, and it happened to me on this chase. I saw a good size white tornado form off in the distance, but I chose not to video it, it was horribly contrasted because rain was obsuring it some.
