I felt the need to share my joy over my new toy, this thing is a dream coming true for me, I'm a Subaru Impreza owner and a Rally fanatic, this is probably the closest I'll ever be to driving a real WRC car. This kind of setup makes thing so realistic, it's a real blast! Sorry for the bad lighting and video quality this was filmed with a small digital camera. *MY MINI REVIEW ON G27 WITH TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED 2* (Full comp. specs below review) SUMMARY: With the original Test Drive Unlimited, I instantly fell in love with the game's open world and great driving style. The G27 racing wheel from Logitech made the experience much better. It delivered a much more realistic feel while driving that made the game even more immersive. Test Drive Unlimited 2 is no exception. Now you can enjoy the original Hawaiian Island and the Spanish island of Ibiza. And with the G27, triple 1080p resolution and 5.1 surround sound, the game pushes open world racing to a new level. ISSUES: As great as they are, the G27 and TDU2 aren't a perfect match. There are still some annoying issues. The Force-Feedback with the G27 and TDU2 is great, but seems to be a little inconsistent. The Force-Feedback in the original TDU was a little bit better. But this issue is nothing compared to the others. In the original TDU, sequential or "flappy paddle" shifting and standard transmission shifting was auto-selected, based on what car you were driving. If I were to hop into an Enzo Ferrari, TDU would instantly enable the flappy paddles on the G27 wheel. Then, after getting bored with the Enzo, I would bring out my McLaren F1. Again, TDU saw that the McLaren did NOT use the flappy paddle transmission, but the standard clutch and H Pad system, and would therefore enable it on the G27 wheel. This was all done 100% by TDU, and no self-switching was needed. Brilliant. I <b>...</b>

This is not a full review like everybody makes. This is only a pure noise comparison video for the Logitech G25 and G27. I made this video because I couldn't find a useful (gear) noise comparison video on the whole internet. The G27 has straight gears which makes a lot of noise, while the G27 is very quiet with its helical gears! What a huge difference! The G27 appears to be a lot smoother too. And even the gearbox of the G27 feels way better, more solid and robust, ant it's quieter too.

Testing out Gran Turismo 5 on the Playseat with the Logitech G27 Wheel. Pros: Playseat is a very sturdy seat rig. Logitech G27 is solid, good resistance in the pedals, metal steering wheel and quiet rotations, and can use the paddle shifter OR 6-spd shifter with clutch. Cons: Bar b/t the legs of the Playseat makes heel-toe shifting or left foot braking awkward. No resistance in the Logitech 6-spd shifter which can result in mis-shifts as shown in the video. No more option for using the shifter as a sequential shifter. Overall: With a little getting used to, the combination of the Playseat with the G27 makes for a more realistic racing gaming experience, compared to using a controller or a desk mounted steering wheel.
