"Gambler" is the second single by Madonna from the soundtrack album and motion picture, Vision Quest and was released on October 3, 1985 by Geffen Records. It was not released in the United States but was in other parts of the world, notably in the United Kingdom where it was a top 5 hit. The single was the last to date of Madonna's commercially available songs whose songwriting was credited solely to Madonna until the release of I'm Going To Tell You A Secret, which included the original version of I Love New York, also written by Madonna alone. The majority of songs from her subsequent career have been co-written by Madonna and other artists. As the song was recorded on the Geffen label, it was rumored in the music press that a commercial issuing of the single in the US was suppressed at the request of Madonna's Sire records management. It was feared that commercial availability of yet another single by Madonna would have been detrimental to the other singles from the "Like a Virgin" album and the already available, Geffen-distributed "Crazy for You", all of which were performing well in the Billboard charts. Whether the song could have been another US Top 5 hit for the singer in 1985 will remain unknown, though in some other markets "Gambler" was Madonna's sixth consecutive Top ten hit in the space of just eleven months. At one stage, this was one of four of Madonna's singles simultaneously in the Australian top 40, showing the singer's incredible international appeal <b>...</b>

Check out Jack's line of sauces at TheBestSauces.com Here is the recipe Gambler's Chili Ingredients: 2 lbs. pork tenderloin, cubed 1 cup coarsely chopped onion 14 oz. Swanson chicken broth 10 oz can or bottle of green salsa 2 1/2 cups diced green chiles Spice Mix Ingredients: 3 tsp garlic (minced or mashed) 2 ½ Tbsp chicken base (bouillon) 1 tsp celery salt 1 Tbsp flour 2 tsp oregano 1 Tbsp cumin 3 Tbsp diced jalapeno pepper 1 Tbsp dried cilantro (Pendries powder or 3 Tbsp fresh finely chopped) 1 Tbsp green chili powder *Tabasco (green) to taste *Salt Salt to taste Instructions: 1. Brown pork and drain 2. Add onion & chicken broth, then simmer 1 hour, stirring often to avoid sticking 3. Add spice mix and green chili salsa, then simmer 30 minutes 4. Add diced green chiles, then add salt and tabasco to taste 5. Simmer another hour and serve.

In 1995, having circulated his name and created a buzz, Smoothe made a power move with the release of "Broken Language," an exercise in thug-life linguistics that helped influence a new style of MCing. The track was actually the B-side of their original single for Profile Records, "Hustlin'." "Hustlin'" was better-than-average hip-hop, but the B-side sleeper became Smoothe's claim to fame. With free verse stanzas littered with abrupt, staccato phrases and hanging rhymes, Smoothe and his younger brother Trigga Tha Gambler captured the underground's attention. The rhymes of "Broken Language" sounded like automatic gunfire on wax. After almost a year of trepidation, Smoothe borrowed the title from an old Sergio Leone gangster film for his debut album, Once Upon a Time in America.

Born in Alice, Texas, Ruben Naranjo was known to everyone as basic Conjunto at its soulful best. Ruben's accordion style is elegantly simple, and in many ways tells of his roots and the love of his culture and his people. He began playing the bajo sexto at 15 exclusively until 1962, but his true love for the accordion flourished as he teamed up with Chano Cadena back when many bands had two accordionists. In 1972 he formed his own group, Ruben Naranjo y Los Gamblers and toured with Eligio Escobar. His first recordings were with Zarape Records. In the middle seventies he hit it with, "La Estrella" which opened the way for substantial recordings and an outstanding performing career that peaked in the early eighties. With over 20 albums and numerous singles to his credit, he is among the few Tejano conjunto artists who have been so well accepted in both Mexico and the US.
