ATTENTION: I want to make something clear: I DO NOT support buying the iPad or the Garageband. The truth is I don't think that the iPad is such a great device or worth the money. There are much better solutions with less money. Personally I bought and sold almost immediately (within days) more than 4 iPads before they lose value just to do garageband videos or test a new IOS. If I ever actually need to buy a tablet to keep it would definitely be an android one that cost less and do more. I felt the need to say that because I received A LOT comments about people buying iPads or Garageband application because they watch this video. I did this for fun and I am not supporting Apple or its products. This is me creating a jam track with apple's Garageband app for the ipad and then shredding a guitar solo over it! I am sorry about the bad video quality, but i could not find a way to record ipad's screen in a fast framerate. Anyway i believe you will get the idea. Hope you enjoy!

I pre recorded everything using only Garageband and thought making a music video would be a fun way to show what you can do with Garageband for the iPad. The song is called "love me, leave me" and is not available for download. (sorry) ----- The iPad used in this video is the iPad 2. It's got a camera on the front and the back. The back camera is an HD camera but the front isn't. I downloaded Garageband for the iPad 2. It allows you to create songs on the go, up to 8 tracks. Garageband for the iPad 1 and 2 comes standard with numerous sounds like pianos, guitars, synths, basses, drums and even a sampler. It's also got a built in amplifier which allows you to plug your electric guitar in the iPad 1 & 2! You can also record vocals using the iPad microphone which I did in this song. It sounds pretty decent and it's even got little features like echo and reverb that you can add to your tracks. The Garageband app is available in the appstore on your iPad 1 or iPad 2 and is not compatible with an iPod or iPhone. It costs $5. I'd recommend it but don't expect professional recordings. If you have a Mac, try GarageBand! Its an amazing app that comes free with your software. It has a huge potential for those who might bee "afraid" of Logic. The sounds are superb, and you can do a lot with it. Compose, arrange and finish a song just in GarageBand. I downloaded a free backing track from www.freebackingtracks.com and used it as my source. I plugged the guitar and messed with the different amps and stomp boxes you have there. Enjoy

This video shows you how to set up Duet 2 in GarageBand and begin recording quickly. To follow this tutorial, you will need to have Duet 2, Mac OS 10.6.7 or greater and Garage Band 11' Open GarageBand. For the purpose of this tutorial, choose electric guitar in the New Project Window. Next, name your song and save it You should now see GarageBand open with a single track and a default guitar amp. Click on GarageBand,Preferences, and then Audio/MIDI. For "Audio output" select "Duet USB 2.0" You will see a message asking if you really want to change the audio driver... Choose Yes. Do the same for "Audio input" To experience the full audio resolution of Duet, select "Advanced" and for Audio Resolution select "Best". Close the Preferences Window. Make sure that "Guitar Track" is hi-lighted, click on the amp so that you see it's controls below. Click "Edit" Make sure "Input source" is set to "Duet USB 2.0" Set "Monitor" to "ON" Now, Launch Maestro 2 located in the applications folder Click on "Input" and then select the input source. Since we created a guitar track in GarageBand, we will choose "Instrument" and plug a guitar into Duet's 1/4" instrument input.
