His choreography was of such a standard that the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences created a special Oscar that year in recognition of his achievement. The flashmob entertained passengers with a version of the legendary Singin' in the Rain dance, which made Kelly an icon. Gene Kelly was one of the greatest all-round talents ever to tap-dance his way across the silver screen.
