For Me and My Gal - Gene Kelly, Judy Garland

One of my favorite scenes and movies. The clip is from "For Me And My Gal" and is Gene Kelly's movie debut. NOTE: The Youtube Mobile version of this video has "dubbed" over music -- this is due to WMG blocking the original audio track for a temporary time period in 2009-2010 and Youtube Mobile has not updated the mobile version of this video since that time.
Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron - An American In Paris

Only two pictures have ever been described by critical concensus as "the perfect film"; Citizen Kane and An American in Paris. This was Kelly's magnum opus. His choreography was of such a standard that the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences created a special Oscar that year in recognition of his achievement. Though Singin' in the Rain is the film everyone knows, this is the film they should all watch. This is the routine everyone hould watch. Here is his duet with the stunning Leslie Caron, and if there is a more charged duet anywhere in dance on film I have yet to see it. All those fans of crappy celebrity ballroom comps should take note. This is how it's done

Gene Kelly - Dancin' with Myself

If he had a chance, he'd ask the world to dance. Which he kinda did. A retrospective of Gene Kelly's various great dance scenes, starting with his solo work and building from there. Song by Billy Idol. All film sources listed at the end of the video. I don't own any of this.

Glasgow Film Festival - Gene Kelly flashmob at Glasgow Airport

Travellers at Glasgow Airport on Tuesday 14 February 2012 were treated to an unexpected dance routine reminiscent of quintessential song'n'dance man Gene Kelly, ahead of the retrospective of his films at Glasgow Film Festival. The flashmob entertained passengers with a version of the legendary Singin' in the Rain dance, which made Kelly an icon. Gene Kelly was one of the greatest all-round talents ever to tap-dance his way across the silver screen. Kelly left an indelible impression on the movies as an actor, director and choreographer which can be seen during Glasgow Film Festival 2012 in all-time classics like Anchors Aweigh (1945), The Pirate (1948), Take Me Out to the Ball Game (1949), On the Town (1949), An American in Paris (1951), Singin' in the Rain (1952), Brigadoon (1954) and Hello, Dolly (1969) from 18--26 February. The Gene Kelly retrospective is one of nineteen strands at Glasgow Film Festival 2012, which runs from 16 -- 26 February. sexy Gene Kelly Pirate ballet dance hot legs

New yok times wrote; "Gene Kelly is doing some of the fanciest gymnastic dancing of his career in "The Pirate"—and he's good, very good, indeed. As the strolling thespian, Serafin, who masquerades as the bold pirate Macoco to capture the fancy of the fair maiden, Manuela, and prevent her marriage to the flabby and stuffy Don Pedro Vargas, Mr. Kelly scales balconies and swings through the air with the authority and grace exhibited by the late Douglas Fairbanks. When he is whirling about the screen, serenading beautiful Caribbean damsels, or vigorously performing a ballet depicting piratical exploits that is brilliantly photographed in flaming shades of red and punctuated with yellow bursts of flashing gun powder, "The Pirate" achieves the pinnacle of spectacle."

HD 1080p "Singin' in the Rain" (Title Song) 1952 ~ Gene Kelly

From a recently surfaced 1080p High-Definition digital transfer of Singin' in the Rain (1952). Let's hope Warner decides to release a restored version of this transfer on Blu-Ray (& DVD) for the film's upcoming 60th anniversary! ***"Singin' in the Rain"*** Written in 1929 Music by Nacio Herb Brown Lyrics by Arthur Freed Originally from The Hollywood Revue of 1929 (1929) Sung by Gene Kelly as Don Lockwood Lyrics: Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo... I'm singing in the rain Just singing in the rain What a glorious feelin' I'm happy again I'm laughing at clouds So dark up above The sun's in my heart And I'm ready for love Let the stormy clouds chase Everyone from the place Come on with the rain I've a smile on my face I walk down the lane With a happy refrain Just singin', Singin' in the rain Dancin' in the rain Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah Dee-ah dee-ah dee-ah I'm happy again! I'm singin' and dancin' in the rain! I'm dancin' and singin' in the rain... [ADDITIONAL VERSE] Why am I smiling And why do I sing? Why does September Seem sunny as spring? Why do I get up Each morning and start? Happy and head up With joy in my heart Why is each new task A trifle to do? Because I am living A life full of you.
