Canon in D by Pachelbel - George Winston

Canon in D major, by Johann Pachelbel, was written in or around 1680, during the Baroque period, as a piece of chamber music for three violins and basso, but has since been arranged for a wide variety of ensembles. The piece is especially known for its chord progression, and is often played at weddings. George Winston's variation of the theme is quite unique.

Rain - George Winston

George Winston - Rain, from his 1982 album Winter into Spring. This song is one of my top 5 favorites by GW. I have always envisioned a passing storm with four parts: I: Calm before the storm (0:18). II: Storm approaching (3:06). III: Rain above (5:42). IV: Calm after the storm (8:08). Song was played at dusk... so it gets a bit darker from begining to end. I learned by ear. Parts II and III I learned maybe 10 or so years ago. But had to learn parts I and IV from scratch recently. The left hand in the beginning of part I, and all of part IV were initially difficult for me by ear. But watching/listening to GW's version on YT helped :) Once I saw the pattern, I was able to pick it up. The song as a whole is not exact to the original. Enjoy. Happy Holidays.

My brother Phillip playing one on his favorite modern pieces, February Sea. My father had a CD of Winston and one day we were listening to it in the car and my brother heard that song and said, "I want to learn that." So he did...enjoy.

Canon by Pachelbel (arranged by George Winston)...played IMperfectly by heartBtrue

Life can never be, Nor is ever needed to be... "perfect" As such... May each our eyes and ears see and hear beyond the "flaws", misfortunes, and mishaps And for all whose lives ARE touched with incomprehensible "imperfections"... May the rest of us view only... the beauty beneath that which is really... only different. And unique. And regardless of what is seen of the EXterior... May we nevertheless..."Live, Love, Laugh"...from the INterior... And give back instead... the grace and gentility, within each ourselves And to be just that one voice to ask "Are you okay?" To be just that one hand... To unlock just one key... To just...one...other... heart... -heartBtrue Purpose of our video: This video entails the sentiments of some of you, who have faced some adversities or tribulations in your lives. And then also those whom have contributed some acts of philanthropy and benevolence to our humanity. It is my dedication to all of you, who have touched my own life. And whose strength and courage, and/or kindness and compassion are perhaps most encouraging and inspiring...to the rest of us. Points to emphasize from our video: 1. Life is NOT "perfect"...nor does it ever need to be. Therefore...we need to accept what we are given, and see the beauty in EVERY person/situation: 2. What we CAN "perfect" instead: Such that life can never BE "perfect", perhaps there really isn't much need to strive for such. And to perhaps realize, that what we each CAN "perFECT" instead..is simply the ...
