In October 2007 I was fortunate enough to spend two days in Washington whilst visiting from Australia. As a huge fan of 'The Exorcist' I had to stop at some known spots and take some video. This clip juxtaposes the vision I took with vision from the film in an effort to depict the similarities and differences that have evolved over the decades. I had a great afternoon and for a brief time felt like a small part of 'The Exorcist' mythology (I had to include a cameo of myself to put my personal stamp on it too).

Named after Britain's King George III, George Town is located on the north-east corner of Penang Island (it is the third largest metropolitan in Malaysia by population). George Town was founded in 1786 by Captain Francis Light, a trader for the British East India Company, as base for the company in the Malay States. He obtained the island of Penang from the Sultan of Kedah and built Fort Cornwallis on the north-eastern corner of the island. On 7 July 2008, George Town was, together with Malacca, formally inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is officially recognized as having a unique architectural and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia.

Wikipedia recap : In 1985, under the direction of coach Rollie Massimino, the men's basketball team completed one of the most surprising runs in NCAA tournament history by winning the national championship in the first year of the 64-team field. The eighth-seeded Wildcats beat Dayton (at Dayton), then upset top-seeded Michigan, Maryland and second-seeded North Carolina to win the Southeast Regional en route to the Final Four in Lexington, Kentucky. After defeating 2-seed Memphis State in the national semifinals, Villanova met defending champion and ten-point-favorite Georgetown, led by Patrick Ewing, in the title game. Top-seeded Georgetown had beaten conference rival Villanova twice during the regular season, and had reached the title game with tenacious defense, which gave up less than 40% of their opponents' shots from the field in both the regular season and the postseason. But in perhaps the greatest shooting performance in NCAA history, the Wildcats went 22-of-28 from the field to convert a blistering 78.6% of their shots, including a second half where they missed only one basket. The Hoyas hung tough, converting 55% of their 53 attempts, but were unable to overcome the astounding shooting performance as Villanova won 66-64 to claim the NCAA championship. The Wildcat squad remains the only eight-seed and the lowest overall seed in tournament history to win the championship, and their overall team shooting percentage remains an NCAA tournament record for a single <b>...</b>

Yes, this is another a capella version of the fight song from the group, The Chimes. Do note that the change of color in the words are of Jack the bulldog's colors, and it signifies the change from the chorus to the long bridge. The chorus has two versions, one for American football, the other for basketball. Do note that the school is playing in the championship subdivision for American football-they are an associate member of the Patriot League. The Georgetown men's basketball team got into a brawl with a team from Beijing while on an exhibition trip in China. Here is a statement from Georgetown coach John Thompson III, who pulled his team off the floor with 9 1/2 minutes left and the score tied. "Tonight, two great teams played a very competitive game that Georgetown men's basketball players fight with the Bayi Rockets of China during an exhibition on Thursday. unfortunately ended after heated exchanges with both teams. We sincerely regret that this situation occurred. We remain grateful for the opportunity our student-athletes are having to engage in a sport they love here in China, while strengthening their understanding of a nation we respect and admire at Georgetown University." The Washington Post's Gene Wang first tweeted about the incident. Chairs were being thrown. Players and coaches had to dodge water bottles hurled from stands. Thompson pulled his team off the court after fans threw bottles at them. Wang, who attended the game, later wrote that after Hu Ke fouled Georgetown's Jason Clark the two got into a shoving match and both benches emptied. Chinese police were on hand but did not try to break up the fights. All the points scored in the UNC vs Georgetown NCAA Championship Game by Michael Jordan (16 pts), James Worthy (28 pts), Patrick Ewing (23 pts), and Eric "Sleepy" Floyd (18 pts). All these players would go on to become All-Stars in the NBA. This is the game where Jordan made his game winner with 15 seconds left in the game and UNC taking a 63-62 lead on the shot, which would remain the final score.
