Godflesh - Streetcleaner

Track 9. Streetcleaner (1990): Godflesh's second release, this was their first full length album. This record is still hailed as the band's best work. Streetcleaner was recorded in 3 sessions. Paul Neville helped out on the last one. Lyrics: Vision, Escape Vision, This feels _right_ Hell, Is where I lie Now take the power, When we all die We all die Credits: G. Christian Green - Bass Paul Neville - Guitar (6-9 only) Justin Broadrick - Guitar, Vocals Machine - Rhythm Produced by Godflesh Engineered - Pete Gault (tracks 1 - 5) / Rick Peet (remaining tracks) Album cover - From the movie, "Altered States": first hallucination scene

Godflesh was now just Justin and Ben. Track 4. Hymns (2001): Hymns is Godflesh's sixth and final official studio album. It was released in 2001. Music For Nations is the international label while Koch is releasing the record in the US. Track 13 is a 6 minute song, then a minute of silence, then another 'hidden' track. Lyrics: And I found my soul, when every feeling has been crushed by your world, and you know, I'll find, my purity inside is all that's mine. You make me feel what you feel, I will become you 'cause you know what's real, and I'll see what you see, you'll never be me 'cause I've found my soul. Godflesh - Flowers

Track 4. Merciless EP (1994): Track 1 recorded Dec. 1993. Tracks 2 and 3 biomechanical mixes recorded 1991-1993. Track 4 "Don't Bring Me Flowers" demixed Dec. 1993. "Merciless" is actually an old Fall of Because song, remixed, and it seems that "Last of the Biomechanical Urgents" by Murder Inc. is played backwards on "Unworthy". Robert Hampson appears on tracks 3 and 4. This ep was released June, 1994 and was re-released as part of a double cd package with "Selfless" September 10th 1996. The cover is taken from the 1943 film Meshes of the Afternoon. Credits: GC Green - Bass guitar, Producer, Engineer JK Broadrick - Guitar, Vocals, Producer, Engineer Robert Hampson - Guitar on tracks 3 and 4 Machines - Rhythm & samples

Godflesh - Amoral

Track 6. Songs Of Love And Hate (1996): A very different approach and sound, leaving their metal sound behind that they've been known for. Yet again a third band member was included. Brian (brain) Mantia played live drums for the first time on a Godflesh record. He left before the tour, to be replaced by Ted Parsons of the band Prong. The band begins to incorporate more dance beats again and the drumming adds a lot to the sound. Lyrics: You corrupt, You enslave Enforced taboos, to the grave Make me right, to fit your mould Make me right, like your moral code You distort, You destroy You own, You lie Make us follow, like the sheep we are Make us follow, we need to believe Credits: GC Green - bass JK Broadrick - guitar, vocals Bryan Mantia - drums

Track 8. Slavestate EP (1991): Two years after the breakthrough album Streetcleaner, the band released a 4 song ep titled Slavestate. This ended up being released in 3 different formats, the 4 song ep, a 3 song remix ep and a 9 song mini lp. Originally it was supposed to be released as 2 separate ep's on cd, but Earache didn't go for that. Listed below is the 9 track mini lp. The other releases are in the EP section. Best known for the Techno influenced sound, a large number of Godflesh fans were disappointed. The band's fan base was dramatically changed due to this record. Lyrics: Your blood on my hands, Your blood on my hands Grey machines, Dying ocean Slateman With your hand on my heart, I need air With your hand on my heart, I'll still survive Slateman --Repeat first verse: Credits: Justin Broadrick - Guitar, Vocals G. Godflesh - Us And Them

Track 2. Us And Them (1999): Us and Them is Godflesh's fifth official album. Released on May 17th in Europe, June 8th is the US release date. As with Songs of Love and Hate, the album is influenced by breakbeats, drum and bass, industrial and even hip hop. There are no live drums on this record, unlike the last release. Live to Lose is actually an older track, originally recorded in 1995, but never released. A dub counterpart was scheduled, but never released. Lyrics: that's all there is just us and them no other way it's us or them give it up or tear it down give it up or take it lying down give it up it's us and them give it up it's us or them swear allegiance to your lord but all we really know is the way of the sword Credits: GC Green - bass JK Broadrick - guitar, vocals

Track 4. Pure (1992): This is the band's second full length album. It marks the first Godflesh release to have Robert Hampson of the band Loop on guitar. The bonus track Love, Hate (Slugbaiting) features 3 minutes of material from Fall of Because, Godflesh's predecessor (w/ Paul Neville on guitars). A music video was produced for the single "Mothra". Lyrics: Behold the sky Your eyes seen by my eyes Predominance (X2) You're my covanant (X2) Predominance (X2) You're my covanant (X2) Unlimited Room for thought Wedding ring, pull it off Repeat Chorus Make it Right Credits: GC Green - bass JK Broadrick - guitar, vocals Robert Hampson - guitar (tracks 1, 3, 4, 8, 10) Machines - rhythm and samples Paul Neville - guitar (track 9)

This is another Student style video made for my university course. its very cheesy, and in my opinion, not my favourite work, but it does perhaps show my ability to keep the visuals exactly in time with the music, and editing skills. my use of effects is perhaps sometimes overdone, but generally i am proud of the piece. i must also mention, that isnt me in the video, i dont run like that, he was trying to run in slow motion for some reason!

Godflesh - Veins

Track 2. Godflesh (1988): Godflesh is the eponymous first release by the pioneering experimental industrial metal band. It was originally released in 1988 through Swordfish Records, but was later reissued as an album by Earache Records with two additional tracks. Sometimes overshadowed by the impact of the follow-up Streetcleaner album, the self-titled EP is possibly just as influential and important a release in the industrial metal field, if not even more so; highly regarded for its originality and innovative lo-fi production based progression of sounds pioneered by the likes of the Swans and Throbbing Gristle through very heavy discordant guitars and bass, brutal drum machines and Broadrick's bile-filled vocal delivery. Musically, the album's generally slow and extremely heavy riffs are virtually a polar opposite to Broadrick's fast paced work with Napalm Death on their genre defining grindcore debut, Scum. Lyrics: Reduced to this, Vulnerable and cold Pushed myself too far, Such waste Grit my teeth, With tears in my eyes On my knees for you, Truth is always pain Bloodsucker, Small in your shadow Suck me dry, Dry cold waste Musicians: GC Green - Bass Justin Broadrick - Guitar, Vocals Machine - Rhythm

Reissued by Relapse Records on the 1st of April, 2003. After Justin Broadrick disbanded Godflesh, he chose to re-release the material, along with four remixes which were recorded in 1995. Lyrics: You see their truth You know their lies give me fire give me air give me fire give me fire give me air give me fire You see your cross We'll blame our loss [repeat chorus] [repeat 1st verse] [repeat chorus] Credits: GC Green - bass JK Broadrick - guitar, vocals Machines - rhythm, samples, synth
