I had no idea what this meant. Am I the only one? I can't be! Tips: Conserve your H2O! Don't leave your water running when you brush your Teeth. Cut your showers in half. Compost is easier than you think. If you have an outdoor compost pile make sure you are feeding it! Egg shells and fruit peels are great for your compost because it feed the worms. WORMS are the key to turning around your waste into rich dirt you can reuse. You can do indoor compost as well- just make sure you have a lid with air holes for the worms and so the compose itself can "breath". Mulch your fallen branches and reuse the debris for landscaping. Leave your lawn clippings on your lawn! Reduce waste and feed your lawn! Unplug electrical things that you are not using from your outlets. Change your light bulbs to energy efficient ones! These are small changes that can go a LONG way! Try them out! I'm still learning about Going Green! I'm no expert so if anyone else has great tips or suggestions please leave a comment for everyone to read!

Concept : This short animated film is a message to achieve a greener planet by stopping pollution. For this purpose we have used Ganesh Chaturdhi, a festival widely celebrated in India, to show the pollution done by the devotees. During this festival, the devotees immerse Idols of Lord Ganesha in fresh water so that they would be blessed with wealth and prosperity. Devotees, instead of buying idols made of clay and biodegradable colours, buy idols made of harmful materials like Plaster of Paris, chemical paints etc. Such idols made of harmful materials are not biodegradable and damage our fresh water resources. Story: A rat in its hunger steals some food from the festival and hides in one of the Lord Ganesha's idols. It is eating inside the ear of the idol when it hears lots of splashing sounds in the surroundings. Disturbed, the rat comes out to have a look. To its surprise it is in the middle of a lake also the entire lake is filled with other Ganesha Idols. The Rat is surprised and dismayed to find itself in such a predicament. The distressed rat gets distracted by the sound of an idol falling in to water behind it. In the mean time, an Eagle is searching for food with its sharp eyes and notices the rat below on the Lord Ganesha's idol. The eagle dives straight towards the rat and grabs the distracted rat with its legs. Message : If we ignore the danger of pollution and go against the nature, then it will attack us like the Eagle, which attacked a Rat in this video <b>...</b>

Community and Environmental Planning students at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) created this film to highlight the University's new Green Initiative. As part of this initiative, UNH has embarked on two major infrastructure projects to reduce the University's carbon footprint. The first project, started in 2008 and nearing completion, is the renovation of James Hall to meet LEED standards. The second project curently underway, referred to as Eco-line, is designed to harvest and pump methane gas from a nearby landfill to UNH. The gas will power two turbines which will satisfy the bulk of the campus's energy needs. This film, narrated by Lindsey Moore and Craig Hammel, was created as part of a course called Community Development Perspectives with support from Extension Professor, Charlie French.

While it is true that we need to do a lot more than this in order to possibly prevent global warming, we all still have to start somewhere - for example with some of the suggestions in this video. To the segment on household appliances I should also add Have a good circulation of air around fridge and freezer. Incidentally the 15 year suggestion is to be used as a rule of thumb and not an absolute, because there are of course exceptions.
