Oingo Boingo on the Gong Show

The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo on the Gong Show. This was seen originally in 1976. This little treasure had been sitting on my shelf for years. I figured all old time Boingo fans may enjoy this. I still have about 25 stubs from all the Boingo concerts I saw, and never missed the annual Halloween show. I grew up in the 80's blasting Boingo music while driving my car. Richard Elfman is in the rocket, and Danny is playing the Trombone. Thanks Oingo Boingo for all the years of great music, there was nothing like it on earth! Mark.
Steve Martin on the Gong Show

The Gong Show. Here, Steve Martin is one of the panelist and a great performer. Steve M. was playing the banjo. Too Bad Mr. Barris had to ruin his act. Plus you see a short magic performance. Chuck Barris is the host. The name of the piece is "Foggy Mountain Breakdown". Steve Martin has his own album of his music. He was also featured and performed on American Idol season 8 finale.

The Gong Show - No Idea How This Guy Didn't Win (1976)

I have no idea how this guy didn't win, his act was awesome. To note, watch as Elke Sommer accidentally gongs the act too early, in which host Gary Owens lets this amazing fellow, named Gordon Scott, continue his act for a little longer. The absolute highlight is when he gets gonged, as both times he blows raspberries at the panel.

Chuck Barris on The Gong Show - '77 - HQ

Chuck was, among other things, a DEVISOR of game shows - not a host. But when Laugh-In's Garry Owens failed to score as The Gong Show's host, Chuck stepped in - and it became all about HIM. And so here are all of HIS bits from a top segment, telescoped together. Chuckie-Baby WAS The Gong Show!

"The Worms" on Gong Show 1978

Last of several appearances on the original Gong Show. This episode was the second to last episode. There were a few returning acts and a few acts being rated. Since the rated acts all got gonged, there was no winner. The worms appeared 10 times on the original show, and made an encore performance 10 years later on the New Gong Show hosted by Don Blue.

My winning Gong Show act

In 1977, I appeared on the Gong Show and won with this bizarre sketch where I played John-Boy AND Grandpa Walton having a heart-to-heart talk. I also created the costume and makeup. (Note: some of the video is briefly replaced with still images due to the age of the video.)

POPSICLE TWINS PERFORM ON GONG SHOW

Only the East Coast broadcast included the outrageous "act" on the often-outrageous and frequently questionable "Gong Show". Censors immediately blocked the airing of the clearly over-the-top performance of the "Popsicle Twins" before the show appeared on the West Coast later that day. - Anything inappropriate is in the eye of the beholder. To the conscious mind of a decent citizen, nothing inappropriate at all was going on. As the taste and decency of The Gong Show headed into the toilet, Popsicle sales skyrocketted immediately. - Enjoy this pick from TV's "Most Outrageous Moments", and please take a moment to rate and comment.
