Love Language: The Original Short Film & Fundraiser

Share on twitter: clicktotweet.com There are moments in life when we feel a connection so deep words can hardly describe it. But how do we know that it's real? This is the story of a boy who meets a girl and falls in love. (Please do not continue reading until after you watch the video!) The Jubilee Project makes films for good causes. This film was produced to raise awareness and support for the American Society for Deaf Children. There are two ways that you can support this cause: 1. Go to jubileeproject.bandcamp.com to buy the soundtrack for this video, "Peaches" by New Heights. You can also donate directly to the cause at this site. 2. Sign up to become a sponsor of this video. Each sponsor will be asked to donate 1 penny for each view this video receives in November. So if the video is watched 1000 times this month, sponsors will each donate 10 dollars. You can sign up to become a sponsor by emailing project.jubilee@gmail.com. All proceeds will go to the American Society for Deaf Children. The American Society for Deaf Children is a non-profit organization started in 1967 that supports and educates families of deaf and hard of hearing children and advocates for high quality programs and services. www.jubileeproject.org www.twitter.com/jubileeproject

The Waiting Game

For every view this video receives, The Jubilee Project will donate 30 cents to the non-profit Liberty in North Korea. The money will be directed to an initiative called The Hundred, which seeks to rescue 100 North Korean refugees. Here's how it works: We have recruited people who are willing to donate 1 penny per view. (If you are still interested in donating, you can do so by emailing project.jubilee@gmail.com). After August 8, each sponsor will donate money based on how many views this video receives until then. So if the video receives 1500 views by August 8, they will donate $15. Proceeds will go to help refugees in North Korea. So, watch this video, post it on your facebook, send it to your friends, and help us to make a difference. This is the story of a young man's promise and a young woman's patience. How long will she wait for the love of her life? This video was produced by the Jubilee Project. The Jubilee Project's mission is to make videos for a good cause. We hope to raise awareness, money and support for these causes and empower others to do the same. This is just one of many videos we're working on now so be sure to subscribe and stay tuned for more videos!

Radiohead - Idioteque [Glastonbury 2003]

Radiohead, at Glastonbury Festival in 2003, playing "Idioteque". By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and lacked atmosphere. The tickets sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell a similar number in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full lineup was announced. This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage. Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid.

Under Eye Dark Circles - Some Causes & Treatments

To hear what I'm up to and more about my work come follow me on twitter (and tweet me!) @Lisa_Eldridge twitter.com So many people write to me asking what causes their under eye dark circles and what they can do to treat them that I thought I better make a video covering the basics. I'm not a scientist but I do have access to some of the worlds best cosmetic scientists and I'm always pushing to hear what's new and interesting. Darkness and discolouration under the eyes has two main causes which I cover simply in this video along with some of the most well researched and effective ingredients for tackling the different causes. I don't feature too many products, instead focusing on identifying exactly what type of dark circles you have and the best ingredients to tackle them so you can make good choices when product shopping. There is another video in this series coming tomorrow which covers some of the causes and treatments for under eye puffiness and bags (a subject which holds joint place with the above for most frequently asked). I also made a video about using make-up to cover up under eye issues however it came in as feature film length (so much to say!) so I think I need to re-make it!

JavaScript: The Good Parts

Google Tech Talks Web Exponents presented by Doug Crockford February 27, 2009 blog post: google-code-updates.blogspot.com JavaScript is a language with more than its share of bad parts. It went from non-existence to global adoption in an alarmingly short period of time. It never had an interval in the lab when it could be tried out and polished. JavaScript has some extraordinarily good parts. In JavaScript there is a beautiful, highly expressive language that is buried under a steaming pile of good intentions and blunders. The best nature of JavaScript was so effectively hidden that for many years the prevailing opinion of JavaScript was that it was an unsightly, incompetent abomination. This session will expose the goodness in JavaScript, an outstanding dynamic programming language. Within the language is an elegant subset that is vastly superior to the language as a whole, being more reliable, readable and maintainable. All audio and visual content are property of their respective owners. Glory to God, Forever, Cody Lyrics: Nothing can separate even if I ran away. Your love never fails. I know I still make mistakes, but, You have new mercy for me every day. Your love never fails. Chorus: You stay the same through the ages. Your love never changes. There may be pain in the night but joy comes in the morning. And when the oceans rage I don't have to be afraid because I know that You love me. Your love never fails. The wind is strong and the waters, deep, but I'm not alone here in these open seas. 'Cause Your love never fails. The chasm is far too wide I never thought I'd reach the other side. But Your love never fails. Chorus Bridge: You make all things work together for my good.(x6) Chorus Bridge: You make all things work together for my good.(x13) Chorus

Cell Phones Cause Cancer?

I'm not as interested in answering the question of whether cell phones cause brain cancer (the jury is still out) as I am examining our response to an initial prospective study on the topic. As consumers of news media, we need to become better informed about the kinds of evidence produced in scientific studies. So, do cell phones cause brain cancer? We don't know. It seems very unlikely, given what we know about non-ionizing radiation, but there's just not enough evidence to declare "guilty" or "not guilty". It's impossible to test the hypothesis "Do cell phones NOT cause cancer", so our best guide will be the number of papers that fail to show a strong link. Clear answers would be easier, I know, but then it wouldn't be science.

How To Design A Good API and Why it Matters

Google Tech Talks January 24, 2007 ABSTRACT Every day around the world, software developers spend much of their time working with a variety of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Some are integral to the core platform, some provide access to widely distributed frameworks, and some are written in-house for use by a few developers. Nearly all programmers occasionally function as API designers, whether they know it or not. A well-designed API can be a great asset to the organization that wrote it and to all who use it. Good APIs increase the pleasure and productivity of the developers who use them, the quality of the software they produce, and ultimately, the corporate bottom line....

Directed by Lance Drake LYRICS She's got a knack for hurting me Is it the words she says The only thing that keeps me here Are her eyes in the morning Oh I've packed my things a thousand times, ooh And I've faked believe all her lies, for the last time The other day I drew myself a map So I could figure out your head The canvass dripped with my sweat, blood and tears And she hated every thread I've packed my things a thousand times, ooh And I've faked believe all your lies, for the last time Take it or leave it Cause I'm really leaving I've purchased my ticket to New York First thing in the morning Kissing you good morning And whispering goodbye Take it or leave it Cause I'm really leaving I've made up my mind this time There's no coming back for you Oh, there's no coming back for you Told her no purse is more important Than the knowledge in her head She grabbed her shit just like a baby I can't believe the words I said The only thing I ever see her read Are those damn gossip magazines They fill her head with all that nonsense, yeah So she can fit in with the scene I've packed my things a thousand times, ooh And I've faked believe all her lies, for the last time Take it or leave it Cause I'm really leaving I've purchased my ticket to New York First thing in the morning Kissing you good morning And <b>...</b>

TEDxAustin Robyn O'Brien 2011

Robyn shares her personal story and how it inspired her current path as a "Real Food" evangelist. Grounded in a successful Wall Street career that was more interested in food as good business than good-for-you, this mother of four was shaken awake by the dangerous allergic reaction of one of her children to a "typical" breakfast. Her mission to unearth the cause revealed more about the food industry than she could stomach, and impelled her to share her findings with others. Informative and inspiring. About this speaker Robyn authored "The Unhealthy Truth: How Our Food Is Making Us Sick and What We Can Do About It." A former Wall Street food industry analyst, Robyn brings insight, compassion and detailed analysis to her research into the impact that the global food system is having on the health of our children. She founded allergykidsfoundation.org and was named by Forbes as one of "20 Inspiring Women to Follow on Twitter." The New York Times has passionately described her as "Food's Erin Brockovich." allergykidsfoundation.org http Before we released our speaker's names, we featured a series of Speaker Teasers. Here, Robyn's: Real food, is that too much to ask; Big industry, I take to task; It's time that we reclaim our plates; from food forced into altered states.
