We recently took a trip to Salon Escape in Toronto's posh Yorkville neighbourhood to get tips on how to create hot holiday hairdos using inexpensive Goody hair accessories. First, you need to make sure you're taking care of your hair during the winter months. For girls on the go, don't even think about tossing those wet tresses into a tight up-do. Stylist Robert Barbosa tells us that when the hair is wet, it stretches up to one fifth of its length, causing breakage when it starts to shrink in a tight ponytail. If you want to keep your mane in tip-top shape, try "power drying" your 'do (blow-drying so it's 80% dry) before styling -- this will help prevent breakage and keep your tresses looking fab all season long. For those of you who have fine hair, try sleeping on a silk or satin pillow. The friction from a regular cotton pillow case can cause more breakage during the drier months of winter.
