NOTE: You can use the same alcohol in the jar you've poured but at the same time - but realistic - its is 90 days old! If so, change it. I change mine all day long - but i'm using lots of makeup and brushes etc... There are two things I spend real money on. A good foundation and brushes. You can do more with bad makeup and good brushes than good makeup and bad brushes. Brushes are the one area I spend money. It's a worth while investment. There are a few ways to clean your brushes and soap and water is just fine if that's your preference. Most makeup companies sell brush cleaners - and some contain a small amount of alcohol. These are fine too. BUT for me I want to know my brushes are clean. Hospital grade clean. If someone I'm working on has an eye infection (that I can't see or they aren't aware of), cold sore, acne etc... I want to know that the cleaning solution I use will kill all bacteria - 100% to hospital grade. I use 99% alcohol and it cleans the brush in seconds and depending on the size they're dry within 60 seconds to 5 minutes. I clean my brushes everyday. Sometimes 3x a day. My brushes haven't dried out or turned corse. Some of my brushes are years old and they're still great - even with this frequent cleaning. Never take a chance with cleaning your brushes especially if you're using them on other people. 5 litres of brush cleaning fluid will cost you about £30 and will last you 5 years. Remember that i used a LARGE amount, so when a small amount is used - as the company states - this result does not happen. Does this mean that this powder is not good? No. It's a great powder but one that you should be careful of when you use for flash photography if used to heavily. I used the same amount of product (ish) with both the HD powder and the Super Matte Loose Powder. We've all be there. We've applied our makeup, foundation concealer etc... Youre flawless then apply powder with a brush and - then redness is back. In this video I show you two ways of applying loose powder. The first method is using a brush and pat and gently rolling back and forth on the skin. This method works well. The second method and the best one by far is using a powder puff and pressing and rolling the puff loaded with powder on the skin. This locks in the foundation etc.... And makes your makeup bullet proof. You then take a powder brush and knock off the excess powder that is on the skin. Then you're free to apply powder blush and highlighter etc... But won't it make me caky? No. If anything it will give your skin a look of being polished and flawless. I cannot imagine doing a wedding or someone's makeup for an event and not using this method. This is a great little tip - BUT - its just that - a tip. No hard or fast rules. This will work for some and not for others. Best thing to do - try it? Its only makeup if you don't like the look - then wash it off. As we age our eyebrows get thinner and more sparse. Overly thin eyebrows are also a very hard look to pull off. Its not a soft look - if that makes sense? Keeping your eyebrows fuller will instantly make your look "less hard" and more soft. Assuming you want that look? If you're rocking your thin eyebrows then go for it :) Over plucking our eyebrows is easy to do and before you know it you have them starting way to far out and you have this look on your face that says "i look very very surprised and odd!" It also makes your nose appear "WIDER" in photos and in person - so bare that in mind. Give this tip a try. If it doesn't work for you - thats ok :) Its only makeup :) Wayne

Mac Matchmaster foundation is really a cross between the NC and the NW range. Meaning its MAC's first neutral shades of foundation. And this is a very good thing. The application and feel (as well as smell) is the same with most of MAC foundations. It goes on smooth, looks great and gives medium coverage with a demi-matte finish. The reason this the technique is so effective is that we are using two things that don't really go together! matte and shine! If you want to hide something on the face then using a matte product is your best ecause any shine will only attract to that area - which when covering acne or redness or scars is never the goal. However overly matte skin can look dull and lifeless but at the same time it usually provides full coverage - something we need. So what if we take the best of matte and combine it with a setting spray - taking away the matte effect but leaving behind the full coverage that we seek? Sound cool - it really is and it takes 60 seconds to apply! I used MAC studio fix powder plus foundation. It provides medium to full coverage and is completely matte. Layer the product. Don't be afraid of using too much. Cover what needs to be covered. Then use a setting spray. MAC fix plus is fine - but a REAL setting spray is a much better option. Most of the tutorials on youtube when it comes to contouring and highlighting use powders. The reason i don't - mainly - is because i feel with creams you are able to blend more. Plus, for me at least, the whole point of contouring and highlighting isn't really about CHANGING the face its about making the face more "dimensional". The face isn't a flat - so i want to make sure i have dimension to the skin. This also means as a nice byproduct i can carve out "sharper" cheek bones or "slim down a nose" without it looking like dirty muddy patches on the skin. It also gives a "glow" to the skin. I know from reading makeup book (and i've only ever seen this technique once before) its used to give J-Lo her glow. As far as i know this technique is rarely ever used. I'm not sure why. Maybe people don't know about it? But its one worth mastering. I think what separates a good makeup artist from a great makeup artist is contouring. Once the face is complete and lips applied - it doesn't even matter if no eye makeup is used. Just a coat of mascara and WOW. Knowing you can highlight your best features and play down the ones you're not happy with is a great tool to have. One thing to bare in mind please: If you're skin is NC15 and below - then clearly highlighting the complexion might not be the best idea - as you might end up looking like casper the ghost! So concentrate on contouring more. If you're skin tone is NC/MW50 plus you are better off highlighting your skin tone rather than <b>...</b>

jennifer Lopez inspired makeup with a HUGE emphasis on blending. This video is about blending only. Its not so much about the finished product - but how we got there. Truth is purple is my favourite colour. I love it. I hate pissing around with more than 3 colours on the eye i really do. With good blending techniques two colours (and a liner) are plenty. Blending can turn a bright purple (example) into any shade of violet when paired with a lighter colour (bisque). The MAC 217 brush is ideal and along with MAC 226 brush one my favourites. I prefer the MAC 217 brush for blending because the shape of it will fit most eyes. Using brush guards will prolong the life and shape of your brush and bristles. Sigma do a version of the MAC 217 brush but its not one of my favourite brushes. I find the shape doesn't run evenly - meaning one brush may look different from another and i find the quality scratchy. I hope this makes sense to you. However far apart your brows are the larger your nose will look. This is very clear in photos and something i remind brides about all the time. Also, the thicker and fuller the brow the younger you'll look. I'm not talking bushy brows here, but fuller brows are softer on the face. Experiment with bringing your brows closer together if you have been plucking away and they are too far apart.

HOW TO: DEPOT YOUR MAKEUP - OVEN METHOD!!!! Depotting your makeup is the one things that i think i get asked alot - as most of the items i buy i either depot or are already depotted and ready to place in a palette. Youtube is full of ways to depot your makeup but this is the easiest way i know of that requires minimal time and mess. By placing the items in the oven (not creams for obvious reasons!) the glue that is holding the metal pan to the compact melts and allows for you to pry the pan out with small scissors or a pin etc... without breaking, cracking or damaging the compact. Its thats simple. Believe me i'm not light handed by any means and before i found this method i broke SOOOOO many compacts. I haven't broken on items since. I place these in the oven at around 100.C for around 2-5 minutes depending on the size of the compacts. Again, if they don't easily come out - pop them back in for a few minutes :) I stick all my depotted items into a z-palette :) Thank you for your time. Wayne

Honestly, if you have trouble with mascara's clumping no matter what - then this is the technique for you. It works amazingly well for HD tv, as it does on men. The secret is that it separates the lashes without clumping them - making every lash look amazing. I love it :) You can get mascara combs from most companies and before this video i thin people used them mostly to "de-clump" the lashes after mascara. Sadly it never really worked that well, if at all. This way you are applying it directly to the mascara comb creating a whole new way to apply mascara. Please be careful. You are doing near your eyes with a metal/plasic comb. Please don't rush. YOU CAN CURL YOUR LASHES AFTER YOU'VE APPLIED MASCARA THIS WAY. This is one of the oldest eyeshadow techniques but still the best (in my opinion). This technique allows you to extend your eyeshadow out - without fear - and blend to a completely natural or dramatic look as you want. This is also a great way to apply eyeshadow to mature eyes - and wonderful for hood and almond/asian eyes as it defines them without screaming "i've tried to draw in a crease". A little bit of loose face powder will let you blend blend blend the edges without ruining your work. Its a little secret that very few people know of. It was also one of the few things that controlled my VERY combination skin. I originally bought mine over two years ago without a single issue. I have always been very aware of the pressure i used with the clarisonic and as mentioned above i've been super happy with it. The beginning of Febraury i bought two new brush heads. The deep pore brush head and the sensitive brush head. After the first use i noticed my skin didn't "look" right. Over the next few weeks my skin went from good to bad to REALLY bad. I thought i was going through a purging phase. During this phase my skin not only broke out in acne (spots) but i noticed broken capillaries in my face (cheeks and nose) that had broken. Clarisonic state: "Deep Pore Cleansing: Ideal for cleansing oily skin, large pores or hard to reach areas of the face, such as around the nose. Gentle enough for daily use." NOTE: After speaking with my dermatologist i was told that "skin getting worse before better is generally a myth". A review on MAC Pro Longwear Foundation. This is one of the few products that actually lives up to its name. It really does provide long wear. Perhaps not the 12 hours it claims, but this does provide a great option for those that find their makeup disappears a few hours later. Combined with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural this will provide you with a streak free flawless finish. I'm not a liquid foundation person, but this is pretty good. A beautyblender is advised for application as it gives the smoothest flawless finish.

Most makeup removers are great - so don't think you have to buy very expensive ones - you don'.t If you are using any kind of heavy makeup or waterproof makeup a makeup remover is essential. You don't have to buy really expensive ones but please make sure you're using one. Pure mineral oil is a great option for makeup removal as is Vaseline and pure oils. Shu uemura cleansing oil and Nars cleansing oil are also very very good. Nars being my favourite. Cleansing: cleansing the skin is one of the most important steps in keeping skin healthy. But most people do it wrong! When was the last time you honestly spent 60 full seconds cleansing your skin? Most people spend 10 seconds washing their face! NYX Tango Bronzer A very sheer, shimmery bronzer that suits light to medium skin types best. I would have liked to have seen more "matte" shades but alas - this was not the case. Obviously a real tan doesn't shimmer - but i know many people like shimmering bronzers. These go on sheer but are build-able and give a very nice finish on the skin. You can tell there is mineral oil here by the way these go on so smoothly. After having these now for 3 months i would not re-purchase but ... they are still nice, sheer bronzers for those looking. Maybe a bigger shade selection so that women of colour can have a choice would be very nice.
