The general rule at the dawn of the early 21st century is that in the absence of happy beverages gentlemen do not sing songs about ladies' underpants, but the corollary to this rule is that ladies do not sing songs that include the phrase "carnivorous Jesus" in a style reminiscent of rowdy sailors on shore leave, hence while ARCH ENEMY is one of our favorite bands and we certainly think that Angela Gossow is beyond cute, we decided on January 1, 2010 to abandon logical thinking and to join all the other lunatics on the planet who apparently are working overtime to make complete and total fools of themselves, which certainly is "mission accomplished" for this music video . . . The background on this is that several months ago we somehow discovered ARCH ENEMY and started listening to their hit song "Ravenous" over and over and over, during which time we realized that Daniel Erlandsson is the greatest double-kick drummer on the planet and that Angela Gossow might be the hottest woman in the world, which was fabulous until we listened to the song enough times actually to understand some of the lyrics, and since achieving balance in the universe always is a worthy goal and the aliens from outer space were not beaming us any lyrics for the "Happy New Year (I'm Not Wearing Underpants)" song that we were planning to record for the upcoming "Holiday!" album, everything just happened naturally in a curiously organic way . . . Yesterday, reading online the official biography from Sabina Classen, I felt like I had reading something similar from another artist.. so, I remembered Angela Gossow's personal story and I proved the "coincidences" are too big to be just coincidences!!!! This video is not against one of them, is not to be desrespectful with someone or deliberate who's better or worst. I just think, people can have the same vision of some things but it's too strange and unfair for fans, just copying and pasting the expressions from someone else IN THE SAME ORDER inclusive, and claim that the fans think the words are written with the heart and exclusively for them!!
