Ever Gotesco caught on Fire (Grand Central)
MANILA, Philippines - A fire that broke out at the Ever Gotesco Grand Central Mall in Caloocan City on Friday night continues to rage Saturday, dzMM reported. As of this posting, the fire is still engulfing the mall located along Rizal Avenue in Caloocan City. Earlier reports said the blaze started around 10:45 pm at the ground floor of the four-storey building. Senior Fire Officer 4 Randy Resureccion said a mall security guard noticed that a shoe store on the ground floor was on fire. Mall personnel tried to extinguish the fire, but to no avail. dzMM's Dennis Datu reported that thick black smoke continues to billow from the burning mall. "Bumagsak na ang bubong ng mall kaya pataas na ang usok," he said. The RTW section and the National Bookstore located at the side of the mall were also engulfed in flames. The Bureau of Fire Protection raised Task Force Delta to contain the almost 9-hour blaze. Some residents living along Bustamante and San Diego Streets at the back of the mall have decided to temporarily evacuate their homes. Meanwhile, Atty. Hernando Cabrera, spokesperson of the Light Rail Transit Authority said there is no need to suspend the Line 1 train operations in the area. However, the entrance going up the LRT station just beside the burning mall was closed.

NYC - Grand Central Terminal
Grand Central Terminal (GCT) — often incorrectly called Grand Central Station, or shortened to simply Grand Central — is a terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Built by and named for the New York Central Railroad in the heyday of American long-distance passenger trains, it is the largest train station in the world by number of platforms: 44, with 67 tracks along them. They are on two levels, both below ground, with 41 tracks on the upper level and 26 on the lower, though the total number of tracks along platforms and in rail yards exceeds 100. When the Long Island Rail Road's new station, below the existing levels, opens (see East Side Access), Grand Central will offer a total of 75 tracks and 48 platforms. The terminal covers an area of 48 acres (19 ha). The terminal serves commuters traveling on the Metro-North Railroad to Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties in New York State, and Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut. Although the terminal has been properly called "Grand Central Terminal" since 1913, many people continue to refer to it as "Grand Central Station". "Grand Central Station" is the name of the nearby post office, as well as the name of a previous rail station on the site, and is also used to refer to a New York City subway station at the same location.
