PoRcUpInE present...Greg Lake & Gary Moore from Greg Lake selftitled album Released in 1981. ENJ@Y!!! LYRICS: There's no reason for you to love me after all of the heartaches we've been through. But I love you, I just can't help it. You're so beautiful, what else can I do? You say you didn't make me love you, and you tell me that you're not to blame. But it still hurts me the same. Baby, love is not a game. 'Cause it hurts, oh. It hurts, yeah. Mm. I can't stand it, but I can't leave you. Either way I'm a loser in the end. I can't shake it, I just can't free you. It is no use me trying to pretend. If I didn't really love you, then maybe I could let you go. But as sure as the fall winds blow, I just can't help but love you so. And it hurts, oh. It hurts, yeah. Mm. Do you know that love can actually hurt you enough to make you die? And if your baby says she's going to desert you, what you gonna do? You're sure gonna have the blues tonight. I can't help it, I've been so lonely. Life without you is nothing but a drag. There's no other, you're my one and only. I would love you in riches or in rags. If I knew you didn't love me, I could turn my back and walk away. It's so easy to say, but it's so hard to find a way. 'Cause it hurts, oh. It hurts, yeah. Oh, it hurts!

Greg Lake-Oh my father - From The Beginning Box Set - 2007 (Castle Music UK ) The track "Oh My Father" by Lake is very interesting in that it was recorded during the Tarkus sessions but sounds nothing like that album. It seems to be a tribute to his late father. Did his father pass away at an early age? If so, it is a very personal song, otherwise it's just an ELP oddity. Still, it is a decent ballad with some tasty electric guitar. www.greglake.com en.wikipedia.org pt.wikipedia.org The song is placed here for listening enjoyment only. I did not approve or agree to any advertising that may appear before my video! It is placed by the record companies. From Wikipedia: "I Believe In Father Christmas" is a song by Greg Lake (most famously a member of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer), with lyrics by Peter Sinfield. Although it is often categorized as a Christmas song this was not Lake's intention. Lake claims to have written the song in protest at the commercialization of Christmas. Sinfield however, claims that the words are about a loss of innocence & childhood belief. The song is often misinterpreted as an anti-religious song and, because of this, Lake was surprised at its success. As he stated in a Mojo magazine interview: "I find it appalling when people say it's politically incorrect to talk about Christmas, you've got to talk about 'The Holiday Season.' Christmas was a time of family warmth and love. There was a feeling of forgiveness, acceptance. And I do believe in Father Christmas." The song was recorded by Lake in 1974 and released separately from ELP in 1975, becoming the Christmas number two in the UK charts. It is currently his only hit solo release. A second recording done by the full trio, with a more stripped-down arrangement, was included on the 1977 album Works Volume II. It was recorded a third time in 1993, for the ELP box set The Return of the Manticore, and Lake revisited it yet again for the 2002 Sanctuary Records compilation A Classic Rock Christmas. Thanks, in advance, for your understanding! From: "Still" (album released in 1973)-Manticore Records Peter John Sinfield (born 27 December 1943) is an English poet, lyricist and artist, most famously known as the lyricist and co-founding member of early incarnations of King Crimson, whose debut album In the Court of the Crimson King has been regarded as one of the most influential progressive rock albums ever released. In 2005, Sinfield was noted as a "Prog rock hero" in Q magazine, for his impressive lyrical contribution and creative influence while working within the rock music industry. As a lyricist, Sinfield has a distinctive approach to the sounds of words, filled with surreal (and sometimes fiercely sexual) imagery, and a special facility with water-images and ideas involving the sea. In 1972, Sinfield remained associated with EG Records, which represented King Crimson and Roxy Music, and it was while Sinfield was producing Roxy Music's debut album and their hit single "Virginia Plain", that he first decided to try his own hand at recording a solo ...

Greg Lake of Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) and King Crimson fame performs King Crimson's "I Talk to the Wind" at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA, April 26, 2012

C'est la vie Have your leaves all turned to brown Will you scatter them around you C'est la vie Do you love And then how am I to know If you don't let your love show for me C'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Who knows, who cares, for me C'est la vie In the night Do you light a lover's fire Do the ashes of desire for you remain Like the sea There's a love to deep to show Took a storm before my love Flowed for you C'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Who knows, who cares, for me C'est la vie Like a song Out of tune and out of time All I needed was a rhyme for you C'est la vie Do you give Do you live from day to day Is there no song I can play for you C'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Oh c'est la vie Who knows, who cares, for me C'est la vie

ELP / Greg Lake ( 1977 ) Closer To Believing - reMASTERED & edited by vibraephase lyrics to Closer To Believing / Emerson, Lake & Palmer I am closer to believing Than I ever was before On the crest of this elation Must I crash upon the shore And with the driftwood of acquaintance Light the fire to love once more I am wind blown...I am times. To be closer to believing To be just a breath away On the death of inspiration I would buy back yesterday But there's no crueller illusion There's no sharper coin to pay As I reach out... It slips away From the opium of custom to the ledges of extremes Don't believe it till you've held it Life is seldom what it seems But lay your heart upon the table And in the shuffling of dreams Remember who on earth you are I need me You need you We want us But of course you know I love you Or what else am I here for Only you not face to face But side by side for evermore And I need to be here with you For without you what am I Just another fool out searching For some heaven in the sky Take me closer to believing Take me forward lead me on Through collision and confusion While there's life beneath the sun You are the reason I continue So near for so long So close yet so far away I need me You need you We want us to live forever So don't let the curtain fall Measure after measure Of writing on the wall That burns so brightly It blinds us all I need me You need you We want us to be together On Sundays in the rain Closer than forever Against or with ...
