
This is the Griffon at Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, VA. It is one of six Dive Machines that were built by B&M in Monthey, Switzerland. The other five are Sheikra at Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa, FL. Sheikra was the first coaster in the world with a 90 degree first drop and the first of the Dive Machines to feature an inversion and two vertical drops. Sheikra is currently the longest Dive Machine in existance at 3188ft long. Then there's Dive Coaster at Chimelong Paradise park in Guangdong, China, Diving Coaster at Happy Valley in Shanghai, China, Diving Machine G5 at Janfusun Fancyworld in Yunelin, Taiwan, and the first Dive Machine, Oblivion, at Alton Towers in Staffordshire, England. Of those six, the Griffon is the tallest at 205ft, second longest behind Sheikra at 3108ft, fastest at 71mph, and the first one to be floorless. Griffon also has a ride time of three minutes, a maximum vertical angle of 90 degrees, and a maximum g-force rating of 4.
