Man Arrested at Ground Zero for Demanding Truth
A brave member of the 9/11 Truth Movement faced a crowd by himself and was immediately sacked by police officers. Clearly, the crowd's reaction to the simple statement "When will we be allowed to know the truth about 9/11" indicates the deep state of denial and cognitive dissonance still present within the brainwashed masses. Estimates vary as to how much oil is gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, but experts agree that it is between 50000 and 150000 barrels of oil per day. On May 19th, scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and elsewhere stated that oil had reached the Loop Current. By June 4th, the oil spill had landed on 125 miles of Louisiana's coast, washed up along Mississippi and Alabama barrier islands, and was found for the first time on a Florida barrier island at Pensacola Beach. The greatest concern has been that severe weather, as we enter hurricane season, might push the oil inland and over a far wider area, simultaneously rendering many clean-up and wildlife rescue operations useless or redundant. Location: Clarksdale Mississippi, Ground Zero Blues Club Discontent with the available places to hear live blues music, actor Morgan Freeman and his business partner Bill Luckett opened the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi. The idea was to bring back the look and feel of an old juke joint (sans the gambling and corn liquor) while creating a stable safe place where the best Delta blues could be heard. Before Ground Zero, impromptu gigs would spring up with little notice in Clarksdale...live music at best was a catch as catch can situation. Boarded up for decades, the building was once used as a cotton sampling and seeding facility, but today, just steps from the old train depot where Muddy Waters left for Chicago, Ground Zero continues the tradition of serving up the blues from the spot where it all started. While we were passing through Clarksdale, Morgan Freeman extended an invitation to the band to come and play. This show was the first time that I had ever heard Joel play slide guitar. After the show Sam Carr remarked that he had not "heard slide guitar like that since his daddy Robert Nighthawk played". A ringing endorsement considering Robert Nighthawk is considered the finest slide guitar player ever. Sit back and enjoy "Mean Ol' Frisco".

Fronted by Freeform turntablist, guitarist Otomo Yoshihide, Ground Zero was yet another project for one of Japans most prolific musical geniuses of the modern era. Originally formed in 1990 as a changeable line up, the band has seen numerous line-ups; which are near impossible to keep check on as each year passes by. Not to mention the flood of live shows. Now defunct, Ground Zero went on to release more than a hand full of albums of the highest standard from 1993 1999. Though relatively short lived the band never cessed to stun and batter our minds with some of the most spectacular and captivating avant-rock/noise/free Jazz to ever escape the Japanese shores. Throughout their career the band was solidified around three set line-ups, along with the continuos influx of guest musicians. Their early period: Otomo, Hirose, Chino, Kimoto, Uemura and Sasaki. Mid period: Otomo, Uchihashi, Nasuno, Uemura, Yoshigaki and Sachiko M Late period (now an 8 piece set up): Otomo, Uchihashi, Nasuno, Uemura, Yoshigaki, Sachiko M, Kikuchi and Tanaka. One of the most important factors residing in Ground Zeros music is the usages and formation of samples. Most of their albums focus around a selection of specific scores of music, moulded into Otomos noisy and stylistic interpretations. The samples come from far and wide, ranging from the Revolutionary Pekinese Opera of China to the Free Jazz of Kaoura Abe. John, who is currently living in NY said that he can't understand the conservatives argument because you can't even see "Ground Zero" from where the Mosque is scheduled to be built. He also stated that Muslims should not be punished for crimes that radicals have committed and he compared it to Christians not having to be accountable for what priest have done to kids or the Spanish Inquisition. John also talked about speaking out as an artists and fighting for what you believe in regardless of whether its going to effect how many fans you are going to gain or lose. On a personal note, it is refreshing for him to take a stance in something he believes in. Gone are the days when celebrities like Muhammad Ali use their star power to draw attention to issues they believe in.
