Hadra (Arabic: حضرة‎) is the term given to the collective supererogatory rituals performed by Sufi orders. The regular hadra is most often held on Thursday evenings after night prayer, Fridays after Jum`a prayer, or Sunday evenings. The hadra features various forms of dhikr (remembrance), including sermons, collective study, recitation of Qur'an and other texts (especially devotional texts particular to the Sufi order (tariqa), called hizb and wird), religious poetic chanting, centering on praise and supplication to God, religious exhortations, praise of the Prophet, and requests for intercession (inshad dini or madih - the latter term referring literally to "praise") and rhythmic invocations of Allah, using one or more of His Names (especially "Allah", "Hayy", "Qayyum", "Hu") or the testimony of faith and tawhid: "la ilaha illa Allah" (there is nothing worthy of worship but God). Rhythmic recitation of names and chanting of religious poetry are frequently performed together. In conservative Sufi orders no instruments are used, or the daf (frame drum) only; other orders employ a range of instrumentation. The term in Arabic literally means "presence". The collective Sufi ritual is practiced under this name primarily in the Arab world, but also in some non-Arab Muslim countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia. In Turkish Sufism the Hadra is often referred to as the Devran and it is a feature of the Khalwati, Shadhili, Qadiri and Rifa'i orders throughout Turkey and the Balkans.

Sufism is performing all the obligations first, and exceeding in the optional deeds such as praying in the nights and making dhikr submissively. A true sufi is a real pious Muslim who is religious. However many sufi claimers today are ignorant. They left the knowledge and they pretend they are sufis acting like them, leaving the obligations and having false beliefs, such people are far from being true sufis. All true sufis were pious and knowledgeable and most were scholars with high status such as al-Jilani, ar-Rifa^iy, al-Junayd, Ma^roof al-Karkhiy, Dun-Nun al-Misriy and many others. Sufis are against "Hulul", they disown the claim that Allah dwells in the creations, or that Allah is inside everything or everywhere. This belief negates Islam. The true belief of the sufis and all Muslims is that Allah exists without a place, He is not bound to space or place. www.qadiriya-harariya.com Qadiriya Hachimiya is named after Shayk Hachim Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sharif (qadasa Lahu sirrah) from Harar, Ethiopia centuries ago. He became the guide when his Shaykh Musafir Almagribi passed away in Bagdad, Irak centuries ago, then a lot of people from Irak immigrated and settled in Harar as they were fulfilling the advice of their guide to follow Shayk Hachim Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sharif. The tariqa changed to Qadiriya Harariya when the beloved Shaykh Mohamed Harari (qadasa Lahu sirrah) became the new guide centuries ago. All shaykhs on the silsila or sanad (chain of transimission) of the tariqa were from Harar, region of Ethiopia until the late Shaykh Mohamed Khalif bin Hassan immigrated to Borama in 1977. The main Hadra or centre(Headquarter) of the Tariqa is located in Borama, North of Somalia, Awdal(Adal) more than 30 years ago. Shaykh Hajj Ibrahim (qadasa Lahu sirrah) (left, old picture) originally from the city of Borama became the shaykh of the tariqa when grand Shaykh Mohamed Khalif Bin Hassan (qadasa Lahu sirrah) from Harar (left) passed way in 1983 in Borama, province of Awdal, North of Somalia.
