This work embodies the effervescence of the modern Levantine culture with all due respect to traditions. In my humble opinion... here is a genius' masterpiece! ---------------------------------------- La Ta'zhoulih "لا تعذليه", is a singular piece in Moultaka's work "Zarani" for two reasons: first it is the only piece in which the music is composed entirely by Moultaka and not based on a popular Mouwashah melody, and second, it is the only piece for solo voice without instruments. The modern approach in this piece is manifested in the [unusually] polyphonic vocal part. It must be pointed out that traditional Levantine chants were exclusively monophonic. Both vocal lines were sung by Lebanese contralto Fadia El-Hage, and superimposed.
