I am so in love with this straightener! For shorter or thinner hair I would recommend this style or the original 1 inch styler. For thick long and curly hair like mine I'd go with the 2 inch salon styler (which I should've gotten). OMGOSH!! This straightener is fantastic! Sorry about my raspy voice, allergies are really kicking my butt right now. For the review: I really have no pros for the Remington Style Professional 1" didgital flat iron. It takes way too long to heat up (even though it boasts the "30 second instant heat up), my hair is still slightly poofy and frizzy after I use it (though some people may just call it "body"... ick) and it tended to catch my hair around the edges of the plates (ouch!). Pros for the Conair "The Power of Pink" 1" ceramic straightener : It is true to the 30-second instant heat up, it has rounded edges to the plates which makes it easier to flip my ends in while straightening, and the heat recovery is so fast! Like I said, I've never had my hair this flat other than when I get my hair done at the salon. There are a few (but extremely minor) cons to this straightener: First, there is a weird smell once it's plugged in. I hope that it goes away after a few uses, but even if it doesn't, the smell isn't that bad. Also, the cord is kind of short, so hopefully you have an outlet near your mirror. Some people say you should straighten hair with nothing on it...or just a little bit of heat protectant... I've decided against that just because that WILL break all of my hair off.
